The state of Washington is one of the more lenient states when it comes to the use of a firearm for self defense or to stop a felony.
Sounds like this was a clear case of self defense (verbal warning, calling 911, then the guy breaks down the door). Glad the homeowner was able to defend against the guy.
This summer some guy broke into a business and stole some belts in Walla Walla, WA. The business owner (sleeping in the store, 1 am) woke up from the glass breaking. He confronted the hood who threatened him. The hood ran off, and the owner unloaded a shotgun into him as he ran off.
The hood had numerous prior convictions. The business owner was found not guilty. The family of the hood is planning a civil suit however.
this took from February till now?
in some states he would have been applauded immediately and told to keep practicing to keep his shootin’ eye sharp.
