Mother Jones, the left-wing magazine that released a controversial video of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's remarks to a fundraiser in May, now admits that it has no full tape of what Romney said, and that its video is missing "one to two minutes" at the most important moment.
The Legal Insurrection blog's William Jacobson and The Blaze both raised questions on Tuesday about whether Mother Jones had, as promised, revealed the full video, given an apparent jump cut in the critical section of Romney's remarks.
"Something is missing. Romney’s 47% answer was cut off before completed, and is not picked up on the Part 2 audio video," Jacobson noted.
Late Tuesday evening, Jacobson obtained the following comment from David Corn of Mother Jones:
According to the source, the recording device inadvertently turned off. The source noticed this quickly and turned it back one [sic]. The source estimates that one to two minutes, maybe less, of recording was missed.
Corn was forced to update his original post, which promised the "full" video, to reflect the fact that a key portion of the video is, in fact, missing.
There is no way to know, without the missing footage, exactly what Romney said. On Monday evening, Romney called for a complete video of his remarks to be released.
That now turns out to be impossible, either because Romney's remarks were never recorded in full (as Mother Jones now claims), or because some of his remarks--perhaps mitigating some of the controversial effect of his statements--were selectively edited out of the tape by Mother Jones or its chain of sources (including former President Jimmy Carter's grandson).

Romney needs to stay on message and start controlling the news cycle instead of staying in punching bag mode.
HOWEVER; the bottom-line is that the Unionistas, Minorities, and sex deviates who are the Obamabase EAT IT UP, and they are the bulk of the 47% who don't pay taxes, nor do they want ANYTHING to mess with their flow of income/benefits/coddling, so they vote (D), religiously.....
Romney needs an “I paid for this microphone” moment to show he has some fire in his belly and some balls.

not only does it look edited but the way it was cut off made me believe Romney was making a point they (the left) did not want to get out...

I read where the story had been on youtube for a few months. There was a download from an account Rachel Maddow and another account so maybe that was why it was released.
I hope this starts a serious discussion about the entitled 47% and has a positive effect for Romney on this election.

I hope somebody in Romney’s organization reads that.
When Romney has his first debate, he should lead with a warning to the ObamaBot running it that his responses are not to be cut or tampered with, “as happened with the Mother Earth video that was edited to give the wrong impression of my statement that was secretly taped back in May.”
That is necessary because very few will be aware of this selective editing by that Leftist rag and their fellow travelers in the msm. Americans still have a sense of fair play, which is about the only scintilla of sense many have.
As expected, it's no surprise that David Corn, an Obama shill, was found to have lied when he said he would release the full video.
There, fixed it.
He should use it in a ad. Show the video, then say, “ and here is what I said after that which was not included for some reason “... Then make his point. He was there, he knows what he said. These people snatch defeat from the jaws of victory deftly.
It’s news now because the Obama water-carrying lamestream made it news and Romney was forced to reply.
That’s the way it works when we have a dishonest and unconscionable “news media.”
I “now” so want him to win, and one reason is to watch the faces of those malicious, far left 1%-er cretins on election night.
God forgive me, but I hate them almost as much as I hate the Muslim Marxist and his entire criminal thug administration.

Any self-respecting journalist (oxymoron, I know) would have noticed the jump cut and immediately followed up with the source to find out if a full version was available and/or why there was an edit in the tape. But the lap dog media was so eager to smear Mitt that they left their professionalism and integrity at the door.
