The seeds of chaos were planted in July when Chick-fil-A President Dan Kathy appeared on a radio show and publicly stated that his company opposes same-sex marriage. It didnt take long for his statements to reverberate throughout the nation, with civil rights groups, media outlets and the public at large responding feverishly. This, teamed with the angst that was already created months before over Chick-fil-As past donations to groups that support the traditional family unit, created a furor.
With the dust having finally settled, a shocking report from a Chicago-based gay rights group claims that the fast food chain has now pledged to stop funding groups that stand against legalizing gay marriage. In a press release on Tuesday, The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA) announced that an internal Chick-fil-A document shows that the company is re-thinking which organizations it will fund.

Perhaps they have *caved* according to this press release.
If this is true, then IMHO they are making a huge mistake. They will loose all the goodwill, and probably a lot of customers they gained by standing up for what they believe.
Mission accomplished for the Lavender mafia. :(
I’ll believe it when Chic-fil-A actually puts out their own press release until then though... It’s just another dis-information campaign to me.
” Winshape, a non-profit funded by Chick-fil-a, has donated millions of dollars to anti-LGBT groups, including some classified as hate groups”
One of those “hate groups” was Focus On The Family.
Guess I’ll pull my CFA bumper sticker off.
Why do we always cave on the absolute most important point but the other side never does? Why?
True....seems there is no limit to what the progressive machine will go to pressure opinion their way...and destroy any traditional/conservative values that are in their way.
Because we always think they’ll stop at “just this one thing”.
Bull s#it.
The left will never like them unless they donate to gay causes.
CFA just lost a lot of good will it had built up with the casual eater who got caught up in the latest flap - who might have become a regular.
Me? I eat there anyway because I have a power card and get a free chicken sandwich with a # 1 - 8 meal.
I don’t buy it. I read the press release from Chick-Fil-A and all they said is they wouldn’t donate to organizations with political causes.
I think they can, and will, continue to give to faith-based groups and churches.
Beats me!
Please contact Mr.Cathy and see if this is true and post it.
This makes no sense. The body of that statement says that Chik-fil-A sent a note to their franchises that they should not discriminate. They never discriminated against anyone.
Fat Chance.
WinShape is ostensibly the Cathy Family Foundation. They are not going to stop teaching young people that men & women are different, they are not going to stop offering marriage seminars to couples that stress the concepts in Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians.
It’s not happening.

Why do you believe every report on the net, why?
The fact that Cathy’s name is mispelled with a “K” makes this smell like B.S.
Let’s pray that they don’t cave and continue to support faith-based groups and churches.
No, the real question is why do you beleive this?
The logic of an un-sourced, unverified story about a man with a sixty year record of conservatism, would cave to homosexuals to sell a chicken sandwich - is bull s#it.
They've no idea what they've done. It isn't enough for the homosexual lobby to have Chick-fil-A stop funding certain groups. They will demand some type of of contribution to one of their own activist groups, or have the restaurant sponsor ‘ Gay appreciation day ‘ or some such rot.
And this was done for what reason? So you may gain favor with the liberals in a handful of American cities? How much profit is worth selling out your convictions?
Pathetic.
Because I once voted for McCain? I’m used to backstabbers. I’m only surprised these days when the knife that’s sticking in my back doesn’t have an R on it.
The one dated Jul. 31, 2012?
Yep. They could also contribute the same amount of cash personally, instead of as a corporation.
They have always been a strong Christian company, and I just can’t see them caving now.
It’s fine they want their gay employees to be treated fairly. I’m sure they already are for the most part.
If they DO cave, I think they will lose TONS of customers, I know they will lose me.
When I hear it from Chik-Fil-A I will believe it, Until them I will not believe any web site who posts otherwise. I would also never post a piece of crap on this site that has not been verified.
With the dust having finally settled, a shocking report from a Chicago-based gay rights group claims that the fast food chain has now pledged to stop funding groups that stand against legalizing gay marriage.
Then there's this:
In a press release on Tuesday, The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA) announced that an internal Chick-fil-A document shows that the company is re-thinking which organizations it will fund.
So all this is some Chicago homo group "claims blah blah blah."
And another group that 'claims' that it has seen internal documents?
Why would CFA change, it increased their business and broadened their name.
I look forward to the day when these homos, these sodomites go too far and they lose all their clout and people go back to believing what God said, it is an abomination.
I really wish somebody on our side would work as hard to de-fund leftist causes as Van Jones is working to de-fund ours.
The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our Restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 Restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.
If one were prone to parse language, one could interpret this to mean "Chik-Fil-A" wants to stay out of politics, which they should, but it doesn't address the political activities of the Winshape Foundation, their charity foundation.
So until I see a definitive statement from Chik-Fil-A and Winshape, I'm not buying it.
SO.... Obama sicked the IRS and EPA on them?
Why does the can have two lids?
Rather similar to the 'foreign policy' Hillary is selling us.
Birdie birdie in the sky, Why'd you do that in my eye? Aren't you glad that bulls don't fly?
Well, that’s doesn’t seem fair, I don’t even have one.
Oh.... like facts count these days!
The latest press release on the web site (http://www.chick-fil-a.com/Pressroom/Press-Releases) is dated 31 July 2012.
No info about them “caving in”.
Why does the can have two lids?
Dinner for two, matching engagement rings.
I can think of one battle they'll never win. And the one they want the most.
Ditto. Ill believe it when Chic-fil-A actually puts out their own press release until then though... Its just another dis-information campaign to me.
Don’t understand your reference, but if you are inplying that everyone who drops a peice of dung on the ground deserves a hearing, eat up.
This is “jamming” (like the radio signal) Only pro homosexual based donations allowed and now any pro marriage donations are “jammed”.
Chick fil a just went stupid.
** reliable sources who did not wish to be identified** == “we made it up”
This phrase: “publicly stated that his company opposes same-sex marriage” alone convinces be this is bulls**t.
He was asked HIS opinion so he stated HIS opinion. This is the first I have seen ANYwhere asserting he was speaking for the company.
Another poster posted their contact information. I[Sport] used the site to ask them. Whether they reply is another matter.
I wouldn’t believe it without the CEO affirming it.
And here it is:
Jul. 31, 2012 Chick-fil-A Response to Recent Controversy
Chick-fil-A is a family-owned and family-led company serving the communities in which it operates. From the day Truett Cathy started the company, he began applying biblically-based principles to managing his business.
Our mission is simple: to serve great food, provide genuine hospitality and have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.
Additionally, they have sent an internal memo to franchisees and stakeholders that states that as a company, they will “treat every person with honor, dignity and respect-regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender” and that their “intent is not to engage in political or social debates.” This statement was placed into an official company document called “Chick-fil-A: Who We Are.”
Look Dammit. CFA has ALWAYS maintained this Christ-like virtue; to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect-regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender. This is NOT NEW.
Shame on so many of you.
” I read the press release from Chick-Fil-A and all they said is they wouldnt donate to organizations with political causes.”
So in other words, they caved.
