Once again, Professor William Jacobson of Legal Insurrection is doing the work the mainstream media should do but won't do. This morning your humble correspondent posted how Jacobson got David Corn to finally admit that there was a gap in the Romney tape after initially claiming that it was complete. However, now that Corn was forced to make that admission only after being pressed by Jacobson, he is now absurdly claiming that he was upfront about that tape gap from the start. Here is Corn's latest laughable claim:
Romney had pivoted from expressing his sentiments about the 47 percent to discussing how to appeal to independents when the tape ended, and it was the 47 percent description that were the focus of this clip. All the clips we posted, of course, were edited out of the longer video. They all needed to have start and end points. When we posted the complete tape, we stated there was a gap of one to two minutes, or less, according to the source. That seemed to be the appropriate time to do so. I will note that Romney, who clearly has thought about how to respond to this clip, has not said in the statements he has made since its release, But then I went on to say

Is this the same David Corn who started the whole Valerie Plame (non)controversy? Yeah...that’s what I thought
It’s spinning out of control for the Chicago crime syndicate. They are not used to having the spotlight shone so brightly on them.
He was just on Larry Kudlow and claimed he just got the full tape within the past week or two and the 2 minute missing gap in the video was the persons phone or what ever just stop working during those 2 missing minutes.
Only two things would stop the recording: lack of battery power or lack of memory. In either case you have to MOVE the camera (or cell phone) to change the battery or the memory card. And yet they want us to believe the camera was placed back in the EXACT same spot as before. Also if this was a secret recording, wouldn't the person make himself obvious by performing the above tasks?
I'm calling BS on this lame explanation and declaring that this tape was purposely EDITED because what was recorded during the convenient gap didn't fit the liberal agenda narrative.
He’s a liar. They edited the tape. Whatever they cut must have clarified the comments. My guess is Romney talking about how he policies will help everybody especially the poor and middle class. How he wants to create jobs and independence, not dependency and despair like Obama and the Rat party.
Some older digital cameras have a limitation on the length of a single video. There is an internal memory buffer, which is then dumped to the memory card.
The camera either cannot dump to the memory card simultaneously, or the memory card write speed is too slow to keep up with the video stream.
In either case, the recording will stop. But, it strains credibility to claim the camera was restarted with no discernible change in the camera position.
Many digital video files have metadata like timestamps. I wonder if any has looked at the “original” closely for signs of editing?

I don’t seem to remember where gaps in the tape helped Nixon any.
Anyway, Hillary! ought to know all about it.
LOL...these liars are trapped in their deceit like roaches in molasses. They have forgotten who they lied to and what they lied about. No one but the blind and stupid media would be brazen enough to think that any sane voter would take their claims seriously.

Same Corn-pone...
This was BIG MONEY PEOPLE... and it was this past May... do you think that anyone in that room had an old phone?
LLS
The camera is on some sort of table at the back of the room, and at one point a waiter sets a pitcher in front of the camera.
I think it was one of the staff serving at the meeting.
Good... they can find them and prosecute them then.
