White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters at the White House press briefing on Wednesday that they should ask the State Department if they wanted to find out who decided not to station Marines at U.S. diplomatic posts in Libya, where the U.S. ambassador and three others were killed at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on the eleventh anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
ABC White House Correspondent Jake Tapper asked Carney: “In the wake of the attacks on Benghazi, the Pentagon and the State Department both made statements that they then had to correct, the Pentagon involving whether or not there were Marines at the embassy in Tripoli--there were not--and the State Department regarding the presence of security firms at the Benghazi compound. Why was there such confusion and is the White House conducting any sort of internal investigation as to what went wrong”?

It’s just misdirection by Carney. It is well known that State is refusing to answer those questions. State Dept. is just refusing to talk about security.
Maybe this will get Tapper to start to asking some questions about what the kenyan was doing while the mission burned to the ground and the ambassador was MIA. And what the NSC in the WH did/didn’t do.
Carney can’t refuse to talk about what the WH role is in this mess without looking like a buffoon.

First, let me say yet again that Tapper is FAR too honest a reporter to be working for that cesspool, ABC.
Second, I’ll add my voice to the chorus here of “Hillary just got thrown under the bus”. Carney may just as well have said “It’s Hillary’s fault”.
The Clintons and the Obamas loathe each other. “Keep your friends close....your enemies closer” explains a lot about their current “relationship”.
This, however, takes it all to a whole new level. Obama just declared war on the Clintons.
