To Claim Virginia, Obama’s Hopes Rest On Women

In a presidential election where women’s issues have taken a more prominent role than many expected, the crucial swing state of Virginia is becoming the Grand Canyon of gender gaps.

A new Washington Post survey indicates that President Obama holds a 19 percentage-point lead (58 to 39) among likely women voters in the commonwealth, yet is running six points behind Republican nominee Mitt Romney among men who are likely to vote (44 to 50). That support from women is the reason the president now enjoys an eight-point advantage overall in Virginia.

Virginia is a state Mitt Romney is fighting hard to win, but the latest poll shows the president holding a steady lead. But, the big surprise is President Obama is beating Romney on Romney's core issue - the economy.

There has long been a disparity between women and men in their voting patterns — a phenomenon first identified and named the “gender gap” during Ronald Reagan’s presidency.

This year, however, ginning up female support has become an imperative for Obama in his reelection bid. Across the electoral map, the Obama campaign is banking on women to offset an expected loss to Romney among men

The perfect example are those hypocritical white liberal women who are highly educated.
They claim to be all things bleeding heart liberal, who are for the black people, who claim that Republicans and white people in general are " racists ", and are for the poor folk, and the poor folk in the inner cities,

Turn a blind eye when it comes to the place that they actually chose to live.
More to the truth ? most Democrat politicians are " That Way " also.


A lot of those white liberal women who will vote for Obama ( and Demgorat politicians ) in Virgina are those same highly educated white liberal women who would not live in the 3rd world crap wholes like D.C. and the D.C./Baltimore metro, and areas like PG county, and AA counties even if hell were to freeze over.

Instead ?

They live in safe, nice high affluent neighborhoods in northern Virgina.

I have several brothers who are happily unmarried, and several sons who probably will be (God knows what it will be like when they are in their 20s). It is very much a personal choice; God will let us decide.

The idea that women could have it all is as ridiculous as thinking that men had it all; in exchange for careers they usually had less of a relationship with the children than their mothers. How women think they’ll fit basically 2 careers into one life is beyond me...

It was women in the GOP that also gave us Romney. It is women who have to have the TV look in who they vote. Women have the shallow values in they reasons for voting.

The “liberal” white women I know are very racist; they openly point out that they don’t hire blacks (and in practice don’t hire Hispanics either). They hire other white women (usually acquaintances) or gay white men, and this provides them with a measure of job security because nobody is motivated/driven enough to take their job. In the meantime the managers with racially mixed staff have their people watching the liberal white women’s staffs routinely come in late/leave early/take long lunches, and they resent the double standard (and they’re right).

The causes that many women support politically are often the reasons why no guy in his right mind would marry them. Guys don’t want somebody who will butcher a baby in the womb, rob him of his future earnings for decades if the marriage doesn’t work, and have some strange guy living in his former house with his children. There is simply little reason for a guy today to legally expose himself to marriage or fatherhood. I’ve been married over 15 years, with kids, but the wife isn’t American or “progressive” - she’s old-school.

Hmm. Never looked at it either from this perspective. I guess some women just aren’t a great investment, are they? Emotionally or financially.

I don’t get it as we have a very traditional marriage. But, within that, I find PLENTY of ways to advance myself, my education, my career ..and I don’t have to sacrifice ANYTHING. It’s just mutual respect between my husband and I that drives it ....I don’t understand why women feel they need to separate themselves from men and/or their children to have what they want. If anything, you end up with SO much MORE.

I don’t know. I guess I just married a good guy, maybe.

One thing i’ve seen many couples do is instantly start out with separate checkbooks and bank accounts. Just another way to stay separate and not combine your lives. My husband and I have ALWAYS made it “both” of ours ...there is no line drawn. Whatever the other does, benefits us both. It’s a true partnership.

People need to reconsider their ideas about marriage — I think it would be the ONE thing that would fix our society’s social ills.

We have sons and daughter and tell them the same thing....we are all in this together.
Pitting old against young? mother against child? men against women?

A lot of guys aren’t a good investment either; they’re the first ones to broadcast that, but the popular media thinks it can “fix” them (while denigrating them the whole time).

My wife and I have never kept separate accounts; if people are at that point maybe marriage isn’t for them.

Even when my wife and I have difficulties, I think at the end of the day we both feel fortunate.

That's why I said that Conservative women are some of the most smartest, brightest, most conservative people in the world.
In fact ? they fight with more enthusiasm than even the men among conservatives.
Hate to say it, but it's true, some of the male leaders among conservatives and the Republican party have been emasculated, lost their sense of what it means to be a man and fight like a man.
To much political correctness have even infected conservatives.

In this day in age one wrong spoken word would do a world of hurt to anyone in the pubic eye.

We are created ( I mean, no sex is greater or less than ) equals in Christ, it's just God has set a set of unique responsibility upon the husband and the wife , a set of leadership roles.
Yes, of course, the bible says that the female is the weaker sex, but, that's in the physical form, and emotional.
As individual souls, they were created equally.
Before Christ entered into our world, women were treated as cattle and property.
It was not until Christ came that women really found their self worth.
Our self worth, our identity is in Christ, and Christ lone.
A women who has been transformed by God's grace through Christ, who is kind, gentle, selflessness is very attractive to me... I am not saying that she is weak as the world sees as weak.
The feminist attitude that the women wears the authoritative pants over the husband in the household is a strong turn off to me.
GOD has set in place a order of authority top down.... it starts with GOD himself, then the husband, then the wife.
But ? God also hold's the man responsible to love his wife.... the bible tells us so.... " Husbands, love your wives and Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it " .... how did Christ loved the church ? he was selfless, he laid down his life for her.

Those liberal feminist mind set women who do that come to find out that even through they won the battle, their winning the war over men has been empty, shallow and now they have to live with it.

The thing about some women today is ?
When they get married they have been selfishly taught that HIS money is HER money, and HER money is HER money.

It's the " All about me attitude " .

The women of today think that the man was created and there for them as their sugar daddy to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
And if he can't live up to her demands ?
Then there is something wrong with him without considering that there maybe something wrong with her.

I do believe that is what today's men are sick of and are better off being single.

Had a friend one time who divorced her husband because of some comment he made about her having a masters degree. It was the DUMBEST reason I’d ever heard. She upped and left him, with 2 young kids.

Another one recently just left because her husband was hassling her about her weight.

My husband has made some of the most denigrating comments to me in 25 years that anyone could imagine ...but would I leave him over it? Hell no ..I just simply give it right back TO him, times ten.

Now he keeps his mouth shut, and is afraid of me. That in and of itself is much more satisfying than any divorce ever could have been. ;)
