Good morning!

Very cold here this morning! 43 degrees and 86% humidity...cold and wet!

The Farmers Almanac winter forecast is out. Above average temps and wet for western Pa.

The womn a few doors down from us is very prou of driving her Earth saving Prius. Not so much yesterday when it wouldn’t start and she had to have it towed.

Rose is talking about the Tea Party at Boyce Park!

Ever since I put an extra foot of insulation in the attic, I’ve been as cool as a cucumber in the summer, and as snug as a bug in a rug in the winter.... As far as being cold now.. you ain’t seen NOTHIN’ yet.. it is going to get very cold this winter!

I was downstairs making lunches. My tablet died and I can’t listen again until I’m upstairs. DON’T get an ACER tablet. What a piece of junk!

Josh Romney will be in Indiana tonight at 5:00 at the Kovalchick Convention Center. I don’t know if I can go or not. If I do, I’ll give a report.

K-Mart, Sears and Walmart all opening up layaway. We’re going to take advantage of that for Christmas this year. Tough year - wedding, baby showers, hospital stays, son graduating, etc etc etc. Our budget is stretched!

Anybody else getting somethin’ like this:

Receive $40 in bill credits every year by enrolling in the Residential Peak Reduction Program.

The electrical grid is in bad shape.. most coal fired generating plants being closed down.. more people out of work.. the dangling of $8.00 in savings for 5 months is suppose to make you give up control of your AC ...

The more I read this the angrier I get .... Jimmy Carter and the sweater was NOTHIN’ compared to this .. How many people are going to fall for this? It’s all about being a controlled people, about losing our freedoms ...

The Government controlling our toilets.. light bulbs and now the power company want to control our Air Conditioning units... I had more than enough!

Thanks AM. :-) It’s not that bad - I’m just whining! It’s been a joyful year - except for the hospital stuff, of course! I should be counting my blessings instead. We have a lovely, smart, talented daughter-in-law who has GREAT taste in men. I have a healthy, adorable new great-nephew, and my son will be graduating college in December and he and DIL will be moving on to the next adventure in life.

The only thing that can really go wrong now is for Nobama to win (read ‘steal’) the election again!

Good morning n’@!

On the local station we yinzers listen to, Q&R advertise a service that will reduce your monthly electric bill by 30%. It involves another local electric company (not mine). I’m sure (at least hope) that they looked into what the program entails. We still have the old time meters (not the RDIF ones) but I check the side of the house periodically to make sure they haven’t snuck one on there. We DO get “energy plans” (free CFL bulbs) if we participate in some sort of “savings plan” (which I fear is the entree to the Smart meter). We also have received some kind of accusatory “report” that said we use more energy than our neighbors...BUT they said theirs said they use more than us. Odd, huh?

We keep getting phone calls from companies who want us to change our electric power providers. They never leave a message, but I look up the numbers online. We also get it in our electric bill. I’m not messing with that. I’m quite happy with Penelec, thank you!

I’m starting to see signs: “Stop the War on Coal - Fire Obama” popping up. Not too many campaign signs. A few obama bumper stickers and one or two obama yard signs. Only one Romney sign so far.

I admit to have fallen out of going to church - and I’ve had the nagging feeling, too, that it’s time to go back.
