Republican share of returned ballots increased from 43.7 yesterday to 45.5 today. Very early of course caveat. He has none/other and repub reversed down at the bottom so don't get confused. Also in the tabulations, he has yesterday's figures up high - also don't get confused there either. Also of note of returned ballots, 80% white, 13% AA. And 61% over age 60 - makes sense because of hardships associated with voting.

That would be absentee early voting for president in North Carolina. They get a head start on many states.

I suspect that like 2008 this will give Dims longer to disqualify them.

No worries. These are the diehards. I will be first in line when early voting starts in Texas - I can’t wait. I take these numbers as a sign of enthusiasm. I believe someone named Chris cast the first ballot for president reading one of the older posts from that website. I wonder who he voted for.

NC was NEVER in play for Obama this time, NO STATE where he got less than 55% of the vote in 2008 is.

The is all bread and circuses folks.. stay focused, fight hard, and stop the letting the press tell you what is going on. Just go out and TALK to people, all sorts of people, don’t just limit yourself to your same old group of friends, actually go out and actively seek people from all over the political spectrum and TALK TO THEM. Don’t lecture, don’t berate, don’t judge, just have a nice friendly conversation with them, whether you agree with them or not, I guarantee you’ll feel much better AND provided you actively go out and go across the political spectrum you’ll find yourself far more relaxed than all teh drama the media wants to create over this.

This thing isn’t, and never has been close.

Idaho and South Dakota are the first states to begin early voting on Friday, although North Carolina has been accepting absentee ballots by mail since Sept. 6. By the end of September, 30 states will have begun either in-person or absentee voting, and eventually all the states will join in.

I wonder who he voted for. To quote P.J. O'Rourke, people don't stand in long lines to vote for the status quo.

I think so as well. People instinctively know that America has never been like this - and, unless they are hardcore liberals and think the change is a good thing, they will vote accordingly.

Another interesting matter is that you can’t poll this feeling. It’s not about policies, ideals, or anything concrete. It’s the feeling that America is fundamentally changing for the worse and one politician is at fault.

Makes me a bit queasy to know they are counting them by party affiliation. Is that a “blind ballot”?

If our country would move back to sanity, this “early” voting crap would be cut out completely.

The earlier people can vote, the MORE they can vote.

One day, from midnight to midnight - that’s it. If you can’t make it, you really don’t want to.

I don’t know. I’ve gotten used to early voting in Texas from the 90s. Some tuesdays are extremely busy when I wouldn’t have had time to vote so I was thankful I could vote early in those years.

well i suppose if you’re john x registered as a dem in the state and you return the ballot then that counts as one dem having returned their ballot. It seems straightforward to me - that’s why this guy is able to get this information. He’s a dem shill but his numbers are accurate.

Voting has started already? Insanity!”

I heartily agree. I know I am older than probably 99% (or at least 47%) of the people on FR but when I first began voting in Kansas many years ago, everybody went to the polls to vote on the first Tuesday in November. It was just something you did that day. Because of the growth in population, I can understand that it would be difficult to do it all in one day now but it certainly shouldn’t begin for anyone except military more than a few days earlier.

Absentee and on-line voting provides a huge source for voter fraud and except for military, IMO, should be eliminated.

Being "used" to voting early has only occurred because people were offered this option. We need one-day voting, with strict controls. It's much harder to control when spread out over many weeks.

If voting were held on Election Day, as it used to, people who care would find the time to rearrange their busy lives to spend a few minutes, maybe half an hour, at the voting booth. It's virtually nothing to ask.
