I guess I lost two days in my life, I shrug. Well she’s MIL and there’s obligations.

But I really tried, I TRIED so hard, to convince her why we should not put anything not needed into the hands of politicians.

You may call it gubmint but all gubmint is headed by people appointed by a politician and thus are beholden to them.

Alas....just alas.

I guess I’m better for it in that I witnessed raw unbridled emotion governing a personal decision. She’s scared for her life, Scott, if that’s your name.

She’s scared for life, as if she were backed into a corner with no escape, as it a Sarah Palin were looming over her, teeth bared, ready to rip off her head.

Someone in this position, hey, they’re not thinking about the monetary consequences of slaying the lion. They’re not pondering the universe and how it will unfold should they slay the lion. They are acting first on the emotion.

Maybe it’s cause of her age. She’s in the dying decade. She knows it. She says she’s had a happy life (God truly blessed this woman), she’ll not fight death.

Obviously she’s scared.

Lookit, I’m trying to explain it as best I can.

MIL votes and is quite serious about it.

Maybe the Romney campaign can take my anecdote and figure out how to reach these people.

How about a campaign commercial....begin with words like “we know you’re concerned about your health care.” Continue on to address the matter directly, maybe insert some emotion. My MIL is on the fence. She’s torn, I see it.

Ah....lemme shuddup.
