Booksellers tell me that people come into their stores, see a book they like, and right there order from Amazon.

Time to consider a cover charge for entering bookstores...

With the sales tax now applied to onlne sales, customers now have to pay the tax plus the shipping and have to wait for the item to be delivered, which puts Internet sellers at a disadvantage.

You know what? That right there is the embodiment of the free enterprise system. ." Someone, i.e. Amazon, has found a way to make a living by selling things cheaper. If bookstores can figure out a way to beat Amazon's deals, they are free to do so. That is what has made America great. Having said that, I have cut back on my Amazon orders due to their support for gay marriage because I am free to do so. Competition is good. Freedom is good. Free Enterprise is good. I'm sure that if there were no way to order products online, books and such would be much more expensive in stores.

Been there. Done that. Cannot remember the last book I purchased from B&N. Significantly more expensive than Amazon.

I buy books on my kindle/iPad. The reason is not that I can’t or won’t go to the bookstore. It is because I can change the type at will. I find that easier to read. It is really that simple. It has nothing to do with delivery, the bookstore, or taxes.

I do that all the time, I will see a book I like in Walmart but I will grab my Android Galaxy phone, hit the one click order at Amazon and its bought and paid for in seconds, and downloaded to either my puter by the Cloud Server, my smartphone or both of my Kindles.

And I often check to see what filter I need by my phone because WM has crap for telling you what those new Purolater filters fit.
