Muslim Rage and the Lost Dignity of the West - When an insult goes unpunished, it lowers everyone
The American Spectator ^ | September 21, 2012 | Roger Kaplan

Posted on 09/21/2012 3:40:58 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

.....Courtesy, as we know, is formal, often hypocritical; for that very reason it is valuable, worth teaching and preserving because the human animal does not always possess the sense of dignity,which in turn produces a sense of respect for others, which finds expression in good manners.

Why not? Why is the human animal not inherently dignified and respectful of others' dignity? Probably -- I am no anthropologist -- because he is corrupt,corrupted by a lousy education that starts with lousy parents and continues through lousy teachers,school systems,and democracy as we currently practice it in our politics and our culture and our social behavior generally......

.....We are attempting to bring enlightenment and Voltairian free-spiritedness to Pak and Pashtun tribes that even the Brits, far more hard-nosed and resolute than we--though their own policy debates essentially foreshadowed ours,advancing the almost exact same choices -- were unable to change over a much longer time during which they were in charge. The way our government is doing this is by saying, through the voice of our secretary of state,that freedom of expression is "reprehensible" when it offends people who hate us.

What is reprehensible,and casts some doubt on her fitness for her job, is to simultaneously express contempt for the First Amendment and demonstrate a remarkable absence of lucidity regarding our enemies.

Such willful blindness must be in some way connected to the slovenliness that characterizes our manners. Our societies produce leaders unable or unwilling--are these not the same?--to show that they have a sense of the moral hierarchy of things.....

The responsible projection of power is a dignified attitude. It sets a certain standard of behavior.....

....we should ponder the connection between that rot and the lost sense of ourselves, and of our dignity,that are reflected in the way we react to it.

If we had a President with some Gonads he would go and order the termination of every one of those savages.

But alas we don’t have a President that will do that.

And if we had a media that wasn't the Obama Protection Team they'd be screaming until that president did exactly as you suggest!

At least it wouldn't be on page A5, behind Romney's gaffes, campaign disarray and 47% videos...

When an insult goes unpunished, it lowers everyone

It does NOT!

Maybe in the MUSLIM world of enhanced self importance; but in the Christian world, an insult can be brushed aside with impunity; realizing the source.

"If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed;
if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly;
you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a small chance of survival.
There may even be a worse case: you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."

No we don't. We have a pResident that sides with the savages, welcomes the muzzie brotherhood to the white house, goes to cairo to apologize for America and welcomes those who hate us to rage and protest against us, killing our Ambassador in one country, and threatening violence at embassies world-wide.

Yesterday we learned (For anyone paying attention...) that Iran has elite Quds inside America waiting to commit terrorist attacks on par with 9-11 should Israel attack Iran, or should we help Israel take out Iran's nuclear facilities.

While all this goes on, what does the current pResident in the White House do about it? He blames a video for his troubles. A video that wasn't even released prior to the Libyan Embassy MURDERS. The same Libyan Embassy MURDERS that encouraged these filthy muzzie pigs to riot and threaten the United States via our embassies around the world.

I can't wait for November to vote this stupid son of a bitch out of office. (That is a true statement folks, Obama is the son of an unwed mother dog.)

Mark to read later; but my initial reaction is that lack of courtesy is simply a symptom and natural result of the overthrow of morality and vitrue.

Our republic was established for a people who could and would voluntarily control their behavior and act in a virtuous manner. They warned that it was unsuitable for governance otherwise.

What’s going unpunished is the murder of our Ambassador. This means that there will be more dead Americans.

A response is needed, and though not necessarily military, this response must have an unabashed punitive and retaliatory flavor.

I think in two generations, barring an EMP weapon, TV and the internet through mobile cell phones will slowly change the culture. All of the women will have seen that other places don’t force women to wear burkas. Other muslim nations let women drive, sit as TV anchors, work as doctors. They’ll see that other places let kids choose spouses. It’s pushing an ice berg with a tug boat - slow, but possible over a long period of time. But there will be millions more in miserable oppression until things begin to change.
Part of the Taliban and Al Queda’s extreme violence against Muslims today is in reaction to the “liberal” younger generation that wants Western prosperity and more freedom that their societies haven’t delivered but unhappy because they know of the outside world.

While there is something to your argument, I think it falls short. IMHO, since muslims are stuck in a mindset of 800 years ago, we need to react in a way we did 800 years ago. Violence is met with well-thought out counter attacks that hit at the core of their faith. They have more restrictions than Carter (not THAT one) has liver pills. I'm thinking ones that involve a lot of pork products, blood, and a certain black stone. Follow this up with missionary work once the violence has been subdued.

It goes beyond that. We are living smack dab in the middle of major changes in human society. Think 15th-16th century.

When the murder or assination of an American Ambassador goes unpunished, worse things will happen.
Probably what the obama team is counting on.
Probably why they won’t respond to the murder.
Probably why they are acting like weak sisters in order to invite more terrorism.
