Pretty reasonable. I would expect the air would be crowded with VFR pilots trying to get a closer look. This is the FAA equivalent of a cop scattering rubberneckers with an old fashioned "nothing to see here. Move along."

Speaking of rubberneckers, the CHP is concerned that they will cause collisions on the freeways trying to get a glimpse of the shuttle.

Was watching coverage of this on the local Fox channel and some dim-witted-twit female reporter asked:
"Will the space shuttle be protected from the sun while its at Edwards AFB?
The guy told her it would be kept in a hangar.
Ever heard of after-burn idiots?

Looking forward to seeing this though.

Wonder if California will be able to keep having these spectacular achievements -considering the fact that we are basically a Socialist/Marxist state on the verge of collapse?

US shuttle Endeavour undertakes final flypast
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19677972

US space shuttle Endeavour has flown by California landmarks in a final air show before it heads for display in Los Angeles.

Piggy-backing on a modified Boeing 747 jet, the 75-ton ship flew past the California state capitol, Golden Gate Bridge and the Hollywood sign.

The shuttle appeared over San Francisco at around 09:30 local time (16:00 GMT) and Los Angeles some two hours later.

It is the youngest shuttle from a fleet that includes Atlantis and Discovery.

Endeavour replaced the shuttle Challenger, which was destroyed in an accident in 1986 that killed seven astronauts.

In service since 1992, it has made 25 trips, logged 123m miles (198m km) in space and circled the globe almost 4,700 times.

Great pics! I tried to get up to the Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) to see it. Traffic was heavy. I got as far as about 1/2 mile before the exit to get to it.

There were so many people, I ended up pulling my car over to the side of the freeway, and so did everyone else. They were lined up across the bridge, and on both sides of the freeway and on the side streets.. There must have been hundreds, or maybe thousands there- because you couldn't even get near JPL.

I couldn't get my camera to work, DARN!

Everyone got out of their cars and looked for the shuttle. When it came into view, a loud cheer went up from the crowd. It was magnificent to see.

Then the cops showed up loudly blaring their sirens, and yelling at people through their loudspeakers,- much to everyone's annoyance. But there were no problems . We all got in our cars and left. (If you heard the news yesterday- all the warnings exc... the cops were expecting a demolition derby.)
No such thing happened.

It made me sad to think that maybe, if we keep going down the Marxist road, we won't ever have any great achievements again.

It does give me some hope that people haven't entirely lost their sense of wonder , in spite of the fact that we live in such a shallow world.
