Obama’s embassy cover story dissolves
The Washington Post ^ | 9/21/12 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 09/21/2012 10:04:58 AM PDT by Lakeshark

It is a measure of how skewed the reporting is and how intellectually inconsistent is most of the “analysis” from the mainstream media that while Mitt Romney’s comment on the embassy attacks held the attention of the press for days (when in fact he had correctly surmised that the administration was trying to make excuses for the embassy attack by expressing regret over an anti-Muslim video)), there has been comparatively little concern with a much more critical story: Did the Obama team intentionally lie to voters (or just shoot first and aim later) for a week about what it knew, and did the deaths of four Americans result, in part, from defective security and preparation at the Benghazi consulate?
**snip**
There is, as always, a media scandal here, a deliberate effort, conservatives believe, to construct narratives that favor the president. But that is small potatoes compared with the mounting evidence of a scandal in the Obama administration. If the administration was negligent in planning, convinced of its own spin (the war on terror is over!) and politicized national security to aid the president's reelection campaign, that is all a big deal. In any event, it should make for an interesting foreign policy presidential debate.

this graphic is copyrighted - but someone needs to make a graphic of a flying white flag - being raised ala Iwo Jima, with obamam and hitlery doing the raising...words on flag: "Forgive U.S."

One picture is worth - it would get the attention of even the densest.

There’s one question I haven’t heard raised by anyone: Why was Ambassador Stevens in Libya and who ordered him there? What was the original purpose of his visit?

Has anyone heard any explanation as to why he was there?

Yeah, well.

The lie has already circled the world about 58 times.

The truth finally limps up to the podium today.

Ambassador Chris Stevens was murdered on 12 September. Today is 21 September. Nine days the MSM was able to help Obama keep the truth under wraps.

Pfui.

Amazing this is in the Post, although if had to come from anywhere, it would be Ms Rubin. Perhaps she has some Israeli sources as well.

I was wondering this morning, could there be, maybe there is, a COUP going on inside his administration. Have some of them finally said "Enough" of this lying bastard. Possible?

Obama is still holding onto the "Film" to blame, but others in the WH are saying differently.

I think the lie is losing.

Finally.

The mocking of the administration claim that this was an unplanned protest of some stupid film has begun to hit the mark..........

Seems there are others who question Chris Stevens assignment and unfortunate demise. Found the following comment on another site very interesting:

Is this what really happened to Ambassador Chris Stevens?

There’s a lot of weirdness and unanswered (and unasked) questions circulating around the recent tragedy in Benghazi. For instance: What is a top diplomat–an ambassador–doing in Benghazi? That’s like wondering around East Palo Alto after dark with a sign on you saying “fat wallet, unarmed.” And ambassadors don’t travel “in the hold of cargo ships” to enter a country like his public bio has stated. Why was he in Benghazi in a regular unarmored car? Engineers in Iraq rode around in up armored cars and they’re no where near as important as an ambassador. Why did the SEAL protecting him state just a couple weeks earlier in an interview on ABC that he was “rounding up weapons in Libya?” Security detail do NOT double as weapons collection. And why did Sean Smith, one of the two SEALs, just minutes before his death, post a message on a gaming site that he might not live past the night?

Is this what’s really going on. . ?

Chris Stevens was not a pressed suit, pencil pushing, clean hands diplomat. He was a high level CIA operative. During the Arab Spring, Obama signed authorization to aid the Libyan rebels. He made it very public that this was not aid, it was approval to send aid. Any actual aid would be classified. And we heard nothing more on the question of aid since then.

Chris Stevens was the CIA operative in charge of funding the Libyan rebels (who used Benghazi as a stonghold) and equiping them with arms. Now fast forward to today. As a matter of routine or as a special case the US now needs to round up the weapons it distributed. It would be a tragic embarrassment to have Americans in Libya killed by weapons issued by America. Other operatives gather the weapons in a place in Benghazi. The Libyans want to deal with the man himself who brokered the original deal not his “delegate” for “security” reasons. So Stevens gets a short notice call while in Europe that he needs to get to Libya ASAP. He flies into an undisclosed location and gets in an unarmored car to not attract attention. Something goes wrong with the deal and he is transfered to a consulate “safe house” which is nothing more elaborate than a rental house with burglar bars on the window. He and his security detail are inside and Sean Smith notices that cops are taking pictures of the exits (very strange and alarming) and posts his situation on the gaming website not because he has a hankering for some gaming but because he sees his situation is very bad and this is the only way (or the established way) to get a message out.

Rockets hit. The SEALS die. Stevens dies of smoke inhalation. Then the attackers make a phone call to the organizers that the riots should now begin (Stevens died very shortly before the riots began. Coincidence? You would expect him to die after they started since the violence in the protests is blamed as the cause of his death.)

And now we’ve learned that the State Department has been in negotiations with Egypt to release Omar Abdel Rahman–the blind sheik responsible for the first World Trade Center bombing. Would this have been another appeasement to the Muslim Brotherhood had not the story been broken? (Since the story broke, a group of congressmen have issued an unequivical warning to the State Department that they should not and will not release the blind sheik.)

What’s going on here?

If your scenario is true, then it sounds as if he was lured to his death, but by whom?

***It would be a tragic embarrassment to have Americans in Libya killed by weapons issued by America.*** F&F 2.0

IMO, Chris Stevens was not “murdered” or “killed.” He was ASSASSINATED.

Someone may have written already:

Stevens was in Benghazi to be present at the grand opening of a US cultural center.

That’s the same mistake Beck made.-————

* Sean Smith, the Foreign Service Information Management Officer assigned to the American consulate in Benghazi.

* Sean Smith was ex-Navy, spent 10 years in.

He was a high level CIA operative.

I am assuming you have a reliable source for such an unequivocal statement. I'm not saying that Stevens was not a spook, but to state it in such stark terms seems to draw a conclusion that is at least a little beyond the evidence.

Follow the trail from Holder and his staff to Gitmo terror subject who was sprung in 2007 by Jennifer Daskal who is currently working in Justice. Does she still have his phone number? Crazy stuff:

Holder’s former firm, Covington & Burling represented 14 Gitmo detainees. Still looking to see which ones:
“Guantanamo Bay Detainees
We currently represent fourteen men detained at the United States Naval Station at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. Most of the men have been detained for approximately eight years and none have been charged with any crimes. Following the decision by the Supreme Court in Boumediene v. Bush, 128 S. Ct. 2229 (2008), holding that the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus extends to detainees held at Guantánamo Bay, we are challenging the legality of our clients’ detentions in habeas proceedings in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Of the seven cases that have gone to merits hearings thus far, Covington has won four, lost two, and is awaiting a decision in one other. Two prior clients were released without a hearing.
The firm has been involved in the Guantánamo related litigation for the last six years. In addition to the on-going habeas corpus proceedings, our efforts have included: bringing cases for review of enemy combatant classification decisions in the D.C. Circuit under the Detainee Treatment Act of 2005; challenging the destruction of CIA torture tapes in federal court; filing amicus briefs and coordinating the amicus effort in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, 548 U.S. 557 (2006); filing amicus briefs in support of Supreme Court review in Moussaoui v. United States, 382 F.3d 483 (4th Cir.), cert denied, 544 U.S. 931 (2005); challenging the government’s practice of redacting information from documents given to security-cleared habeas counsel; and challenging the abusive medical and living conditions that the detainees experience at Guantánamo.”
http://www.cov.com/probonooverview/probono.aspx?show=morehighlights
I believe the CCR represented him. The CCR has strong ties to Covington & Burling:
“And then there is the Center for Constitutional Rights, a Marxist organization that for years has coordinated legal representation for terrorists detained at Guantanamo Bay. The CCR has been attempting to convince Germany, France, Spain, and other countries to file war-crime indictments against former Bush administration officials, including President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and Secretary Rumsfeld. In representing America’s enemies, CCR has collaborated with many private lawyers, who also volunteered their services — several of whom are now working in the Obama Justice Department. Indeed, Holder’s former firm boasts that it still represents 16 Gitmo detainees (the number was previously higher). And, for help shaping detainee policy, Holder recently hired Jennifer Daskal for DOJ’s National Security Division — a lawyer from Human Rights Watch with no prior prosecutorial experience, whose main qualification seems to be the startling advocacy she has done for enemy combatants

Jennifer Daskal
Jennifer Daskal is an American lawyer who serves as senior counsel for Human Rights Watch, and focuses on issues of terrorism, criminal law and immigration.[1][2] She is also currently a political hire at the Department of Justice, which is seeking to prosecute terror suspects through the criminal justice system instead of through military tribunals.[3][4]
A graduate of Harvard Law School, Cambridge and Brown University and a Marshall Scholar,[5] Daskal garnered attention after traveling to the countries to which Guantanamo captives have been released, to verify that those countries are abiding by the undertakings they made to the US Government to respect the returned captives’ human rights.[6]
On February 23, 2010, the New York Post reported that Daskal, Neal Katyal, and three other lawyers who had worked on behalf of the civil rights of Guantanamo captives, had been serving on the Obama administration’s task force reviewing the status of the remaining Guantanamo captives.[7] The paper had first questioned her appointment to the Department of Justice’s National Security Division, in July 2009, and then again in January 2010
