MAKE USE OF SOCAL MEDIA TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT OBAMA * Vanity
The dark recesses of my mind | September 21, 2012 | Raybob

Posted on 09/21/2012 12:29:39 PM PDT by RayBob

Many of us are on Facebook. Many also use Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media. We have 46 days to the election. Many undecideds will not see Romney's or his supporting PACs ads. Many undecideds will not see the Washington Examiner's expose on Obama. Many will not see the wealth of information that can be found here at FreeRepublic.

By sharing Romney's ads and PAC ads with our Facebook friends and our social media contacts, we can spread the word. We can get people to think. Many young people (and older for that matter) have stopped watching the news. They may have stopped watching TV altogether, but they still spend hours on end on social media sites. We can reach them through those tools. We may not convince them to vote for Romney, but we may be able to convince them not to vote for Obama.

This election is crucial. You many not like Romney, but he is the GOP nominee. Gary Johnson and Virgil Goode are not going to beat Obama. I know that many Freepers don't like Romney, but they have to realize the threat posed by Obama. If you can't bring yourself to post pro-Romney material, then at the very least, share information that will expose Obama for what he is. We have 46 days to go in a race that appears to be too close to call. It is our duty to stop Obama; this is a way to do it.

TOPICS: Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: 2012; facebook; obama; romney
Please consider this request. Romney was never my choice. I supported Perry. After he dropped out, it was Newt, then Santorum. I am a reluctant Romney supporter, but a very enthusiastic Obama opponent. I respond to all liberal posts praising or supporting Obama with facts, information and when appropriate, links to ads, articles and videos. I may not convince the posters, but by countering their posts, I may convince some of their contacts. We can win this election and we can do it by using the liberals' favorite tools against them. I ask you to please join me in my endeavor.

Don't forget to “argue with them, get in their faces.”

If it's good enough for Ubama...

One thing to keep in mind is that overly offensive and ridiculing posts will most likely be ignored or even blocked. Excessive numbers of posts will get the same treatment. I would suspect that positive posts about Romney might reach places where typical Obama is evil, Obama is stupid, Obama is inept posts will - even if they are true.

Do it cleverly, with small posters, video clips, etc, that cause people to see truths. In your face proseletyzing is a turnoff to many. Why lose them? Lead them to think...

I do argue with them. I don’t them get away with anything and challenge them with facts, and when possible, with the Dear Reader’s own words. Frankly, I’m surprised that they haven’t unfriended me yet (but most of my fights are with their friends). Its actually quite fun. I have convinced a couple to switch sides and they actually have started sharing my posts as well. Its like that old shampoo commercial... you tell two friends, and they’ll tell two friends...

I would never degrade myself to ever visit or use any form of “social media”.

I don’t use Facebook. Here’s one of the reasons why.

Facebook’s use of software that enables it to track users’ online activity after they log off of the social-networking site came under scrutiny in Washington this week, with lawmakers and consumer advocacy groups demanding a federal investigation. In a letter to the Federal Trade Commission, Reps. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) and Joe Barton (R-Tex.) wrote that Facebook’s use of “cookie” software should be investigated under the “unfair and deceptive acts” clause of the agency’s mandate. “When people log out of Facebook, they are under the expectation that Facebook is no longer monitoring their activities,” wrote the congressmen….

With most libs, you've not lost much. And that thinking thing, it's just too hard for them. And it makes them really, really uncomfortable.

I THINK [SOCIAL MEDIA IS] THE STUPIDEST THING EVER INVENTED!

I'd suggest that Free Republic meets the definition of "social media."

I used to have the identical opinion, but I have found that Twitter is not just a bunch of middle school girls saying, "OMG, I just saw Johnny at the mall." You only "follow" (i.e., see the postings from) people you wish to follow. So, I follow conservatives such as Jonah Goldberg. If I have something I believe to be pertinent or humorous, I tweet it to my followers.

It's not that different from FreeRepublic in that you are sharing communication with like-minded people. There are also some interesting flame wars between the Obamabots and the non-KoolAid drinkers.

Of course, you have to express yourself in 140 characters or less (very difficult) although one can link to news items, etc. I'm not proselytizing--just offering up some information.

For every lame-stream poll that puts Obama in the lead, go to the internals and get the party-breakdown. The lame-streams are using 2008 party percentages that are over-sampling Dems. So every time a lame-stream poll that has Obama ahead is published, copy and print the party percentages and inform people how this polling is dishonest.

If we just get to the polls as we did in 2010, then will win. The lame-stream is doing everything they can to make us think Obama will be the inevitable winner.

HEY~!!

FreeRepublic should add a facebook “Like” button next to stories we feel we should share with friends

FreeRepublic is my PRIMARY source of news and all my freinds are always asking how I know everything about everything before they do

I’ve found that some of the younger folks that are FB friends (usually co-workers or former co-workers)have been sharing the articles and videos that I have posted with their friends. Older FB friends do as well. You have the power to reach a very large audience beyond your set of friends. Take advantage of it.
