Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain says that if he was the party’s nominee, he would probably have a “substantial lead” on President Barack Obama by now.

“The reason is quite simple: I have some depth to my ideas,” the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO said in a speech at the University of Florida, The Gainesville Sun reports. He was speaking at the school as part of his “College Truth Tour.” …

I won’t deny that Obama has a gigantically unfair advantage in his almost worshiping press coverage among most all of the overwhelmingly democrat voting press core.

Seriously the kind of things they pay attention to and make issue of are basically designed to make this man look good, and never force him to face any tough questions about any of his policies.

They love the man almost like he is their God.

No lawsuit was ever filed.

Okay on the lawsuits but as I understand it the complaintants received compensation in the harassment claims. Cain didn’t pay I don’t believe but the entities he worked for did or that’s my understanding. In any case the info was enough to get him to drop out of the primary chase.

>"Cain couldn’t stay ahead of Mitt Romney."

Romney couldn't stay ahead of Mc Cain.

You’re thinking of the one woman, possibly two, who settled with the organization Cain used to work for years ago. After the allegations came out in the past year about Cain having harassed other women and having an affair, I believe Cain threatened to sue those women. You’re confusing the women who settled years ago with the women Cain may have threatened to sue last year. As I said, I can’t recall if Cain did threaten to sue them specifically or just hired lawyers and made a general threat.

I am still pissed that he was run out of the race like he was. Romney was the last person I wanted on the ticket and I am holding my nose when I go to the polls to vote for him simply because he was picked by the establishment and he is from the East Coast especailly Massachusetts.

Herman, much as I love you, you proved beyond any doubt that you do not have the mettle to run for president.

You would not be ahead of Obama right now, because you quit when he said bad things about you.

You lost.

Personally, I disagree. My big problems with Cain are two-fold: 1) no experience in elective office. I think that would be hammered by the Dems if he were the nominee. 2) Cain’s dialect would hurt him with a lot of voters who might abandon both he and Obama on election day.

But if you think the media is spinning wildly out of control to try to defeat Romney, imagine how shrill and vicious they would be if a black conservative were the Republican nominee. The campaign would be about nothing but race instead of the economy.

None of that is to say that I don’t like Herman Cain. I like a lot about him but, seriously, it’s a good thing he’s not the nominee. The Dems would eat him alive just as they did over his “mistress”.

He just didn’t want to take the crap anymore.

Well, one of the job requirements for President is the ability to take crap.

Perhaps the turkey filter actually worked.

He’d be drowning in bimbo eruptions as he did in the GOP primary.

it’s kind of hard to be the nominee when you quit.

A bunch of democratic hacks baring false witness against you in a setual harassment case is a very serous problem for a guy in todays couture. While these women may burn in hell for what they did, that fact does not make Cain’s life on this earth any better in dealing with the congruence.

Such is a particularly difficult problem when you got a Obama worshiping press core willing to believe and push claim against you in the public arena.

Simply put i am not surprised that Cain decided he did not want to subject himself and his family to that. Herman was already a very successful CEO and businessman in his own right. Like trump the presidency would have been something of a demotion for him.

Why bare such a burden for your country when there are other men capable of the job? At least so Cain thought at the time.

Put Herman and Newt out front on the news programs and watch them destroy the lib newsies. They would be the best proponents of the conservative point of view.

1) Mr. Cain - save this until after the election. Your comments don’t help anything now other than giving the media something to talk about besides Obama.
2) It’s easy to throw out the “I’d be winning” thing, but if the media was able to find a handful of women who claim you were after more than a casual business dinner, imagine what they’d have found if you were the nominee. They’d have charter buses full of these women following your campaign bus.
3) Newt and Perry are great guys, but they would not be winning right now. Perry looked awesome until he showed up at his first debate and looked like a wooden soldier at the Nutcracker ballet. Newt was my guy, but the cavalcade of ex wives would not have played well for a long campaign.
4) Romney is winning now. The polls are wrong. Everywhere I go in Maryland and Pennsylvania I see 10 Romney signs for every Obama sign. Four years ago it was 20 to 1 Obama. The magic is gone. Obama doesn’t have it anymore.

Cain couldn’t stay ahead of Mitt Romney.

Kind of hard I imagine when you're smeared with the image of being a black man who rapes white women. I guess the tolerant libs did that though.

For the life of me... I don’t understand the so called conservatives attacking our own today. It is like they want to go on record saying Romey is doing ALL the wrong things and can’t win! Makes me sick of those who are giving up!

The Obama demoralization scheme is working. Romney's had a couple missteps but he's running a good campaign. They forget this isn't the primary any more and they forget who the opponent is.

Herman Cains’ comments...

http://www.collegetruthtour.com/about

He’s touring the nation to inform college students that voting Republican is in their best interest and his tour goes right up until election day.

I do not think that hurts Romney.

“...but is that enough?”

I suspect Romney will turn out to be a much better man and president than conservative ideologues like myself would care to admit, but beyond that, we go to war with the army we have, and that is Romney. There isn’t another one, so yes, it is enough.

From what I could tell, there was no reason for him to drop out. He just didn’t want to take the crap anymore.

I supported Herman. But when he wasn't willing to "take the crap," Romney was. Cain should acknowledge that and stop sniping.

Since he dropped out, his various antics have really make me believe I was mistaken to put so much faith in him.
