Your coworker is correct. Ruger SR-22 is a winner.
Ditto. I noticed today that it doesn’t like the cheapest WalMart Federal long rifle rounds.
I have many MKII/MKIII and 22/45 versions. Putting the 22/45 back together after stripping/cleaning is a little more difficult than the MKII. The MKIII adds another level of complexity with the magazine disconnector added to bump from MKII to MKIII. The MKIII bolt also has a loaded chamber indicator missing on a MKII bolt.
I'm very practiced with the MKII. On a visit to a gun shop/range in Denver, I had to occasion to bailout the shop owner. He screwed up royally and had the MKII jammed up. I walked him through the procedure so he wouldn't repeat the error...especially in front of a customer.
I understand what you’re saying, but on first glance I get more of an impression of a Lugar.
LOL! Too true.
“...and it is mechanically identical to the proven Ruger Mark III standard.”

Yeah, the Mark II is such a joy to “field strip” we’ll keep on making them like that. Or did the Mark III standard do away with the chinese puzzle?
DISCLAIMER: I love shooting my MkII I just hate cleaning it.
Looks nice. Thanks for the link. I’ll check it out.
Thanks for the explanation. Very good...
No flame here. Never was a fan of a .22 that required a degree in engineering to reassemble, and has a fish hook for a front sight ;^)
Take off the beer-goggles ;^D
My waiting period is up this morning and I’ll be picking mine up this afternoon. It is a nice addition to my MK III
Nonsense! Stripping them is easy....it's getting them dressed again that's such a b!tch ;^)
Hey man, yer such a downer... ;^)
You'll thank me when that gaudy a$$ thing spreads its plumage to attract a mate....
Heh, heh, heh... ged ouda here...
The MKIII extends the Chinese puzzle with extra steps for the magazine disconnector. It’s a great action and very accurate. I don’t mind the puzzle. Light duty gunsmithing and puzzles are part of the attraction.
