CONCORD, N.H. – While railing against Mitt Romney’s comment about the 47 percent of voters who consider themselves to be “victims,” Vice President Joe Biden misstated the number of U.S. troops remaining in Afghanistan by several hundred thousand Friday evening.
“By the way, those dependent people he refers to, those 47 percent, they include the 650,000 troops still left in Afghanistan who, because they are in combat, being shot at, injured, they do not have to pay any federal income tax on their salary. I don’t call that dependency. I call that ingratitude to not recognize they are a part of that 47 percent,” Biden said on the steps of the state house in Concord, N.H.

I don’t think all of your military pay is exempt from federal income tax either. (And Romney was obviously not talking about active duty military personnel.)
I was going to ask when they changed that. We paid taxes on my husband’s salary when he served. The only part that wasn’t taxed was the housing allowance.
McLame will call a press conference and declare: “You can’t mention Biden’s middle name, that would be offensive”.

We may have to redefine the definition of “idiot” by making Biden the archtype of it.
Then we would say, “Don’t be a Biden”.

If no other evidence exists...he’s proof of parallel universes.
A solider serving in Germany or States side would have his pay taxed. A solider serving in Afghanistan would not. As soon as the solider left Afghanistan, his pay would again be taxed (usually starting on the 1st of the month after he left the combat zone).
Been there, done that.
The thing is, and this is the sad part, for those who support Obama it doesn’t matter if Biden thinks there are 650 million US troops in Afghanistan. They really don’t care about facts or the ability to speak knowledgeably about any subject. It’s just not important as long as government largess is coming their way.

Joe’s not the only Biden overstating the size of things these days...
And he doesn't realize that his "logic" is not anywhere sneaky enough to convince all "650,000" of them that Mitt attacked them or their work. When you have an administration that detests the military in power, the military is mainly aware of it and the only reason folks don't hear about it is because they gag the voice due to CIC's "deserved" respect.
