Ray Dalio, founder and co-chief investment officer of the world's largest hedge fund, Bridgewater Associates, thinks it’s likely the euro will survive; however, he does predict a “10 to 15 year managed depression” in Southern Europe. In a worst case scenario, he painted a much darker picture.

Couldn't agree more. Think about it....if Obama could declare martial law, suspend civil rights and declare himself dictator - just as Hitler did after the Reichstadt fire, do you think he would give it a second thought? At least our constitution is still good for something so as to protect us from this type of thing.

With each passing generation, the sentiment that the Constitution is just a “piece of paper” keeps gaining traction.

Europe is not nearly as homogenous as it was during Hitler’s time....when almost the entire country was ethnic German, now with the mass influx of Muslims, that won’t be so easy to do without shedding a lot of blood for such a regime to gain power.

Oh but remember, Islam was in lock step with Hitler all the way. They had a singular purpose and that was to rid the world of Jews.

“Couldn’t agree more. Think about it....if Obama could declare martial law, suspend civil rights and declare himself dictator”
A nuclear blast destroys an American city, incidentally, taking Romney and Ryan with it. Obama declares martial law and states new elections will be held in 18 months. If the new elections ever come they will amazingly declare Obama the next president. Then, he will take a page from Putin’s book and create a Chancellor’s position and move into that. Then, he’ll come back as president four years later. Recall how Obama idolizes dictators and China? (Incidentally, the President of China is like the president of a homeowner’s association; no power. The power in China is vested in the hands of a few red generals. The Chinese presidency is a figurehead position for a face to the world. Obama is ignorant and wrong on how so many things actually work.)

Damn,I was hoping to spend some of my time in retirement in Italy. But Osama Obama’s having brought *this* nation's economy to its knees coupled with European “progressives” having done the same to Italy it looks as if *that* ain't gonna happen.

This is kind of phoney history. Hitler generated unrest by staging his street rallies and protests and playing off mutual animosities with the communists. He did capitalize on smoldering resentments but the bulk of his supporters were simply glad to have someone who "promised to do something" about a stagnant economy. But of course Hitler-mongering is a time honored rhetorical device for getting attention.

In the last free elections in Germany before the Nazis took power, the Nazis actually lost seats, and were for the most part considered to have peaked. But Hitler was appointed Chancellor by Von Papen as a power play on his rival, Von Schleicher, they thought Hitler would be easily controlled, but right away Hitler began engineering his coup behind the scenes.

Hitler, was renown for shedding blood, the streets ran with blood....and remember, Muslims were very friendly with the Nazi...in fact, the "final solution" was encouraged by the Muslims, to stop the influx of Jews into Palestine...a fact that the Muslims, and a few other current leaders, would rather avoid discussing...

Germany also had splintered into dozens of minor, narrow issue parties. Hitler won on a largest minority of votes election. He parlayed that and bluffed his way into power. The Nazis lost ground in every election from their peak.

It’s history worth knowing if we don’t want to follow the same path.

Forget the constitution. Listening to some people talk, the idea of rights being government-created is gaining more and more traction...and few of the people saying such things seem to realize they’re giving every dictatorship in history a moral sanction.

Makes me wonder what their reaction will be when the government decides it does hold such power.
