Two 13-year-old Wisconsin boys have been charged with first degree murder for the brutal slaying of one boy's great-grandmother, whom they allegedly bludgeoned with a hammer and hatchet before robbing her spare change and going out for pizza.

Both boys, Antonio D. Barbeau and Nathan J. Paape, were charged Friday as adults in the death of Barbeau’s great-grandmother, 78-year-old Barbara J. Olson, prosecutors said.

In a crime that was both gruesome and callous, the boys are accused of going to Olson’s Sheboygan, Wis., home on Sept. 17 “to get some money,” the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported

Both boys are of the times. Brought up in an age of moral ambiguity. No discernment or judgement and absolutely no fear of any post mortem reward or retribution. Anything goes. We must judge. We must discern. We must discriminate. And toleration should never extend to tolerating the venal, the wicked, and the evil. And for what did they commit murder? Money for a pizza! Madness!

You should have grown up with the guys I grew up with in a small Mississippi river town in Iowa. They were feral dogs who pushed it as far as they could.

Give them a short stay in prison before executing them. Mix them in with the prison population so they can learn a respect for ‘wrong’ prior to death.

“Barbeau’s defense attorney told a local TV station he will try to have the case moved to juvenile court.”

OK, try that. It’s not gonna happen, but go ahead and try.

NOT OBAMA’S SONS.

Wisonsin outlawed the death penalty back in the 1800s after a particularly gruesome hanging that went awry. If these boys are tried as juveniles, the State can keep them in prison until 18. If they are tried as adults, they could get life.

Unfortunately “no death penalty” in Wisconsin often leads to Dahmer’s fate — death handed him by another incarcerated criminal who can suffer no further consequence other than solitary confinement. Dahmer and another criminal named Anderson both were killed the same day by the same perp. Their offence? Killing blacks, or trying to frame blacks for a murder.

Which is worse? A lethal injection administered by a prison doctor after multiple trials and appeals, or being murdered by another prisoner on a lark? Life in prison is not a very good life.

I guess I vote for the death penalty swiftly administered as a detterent and as punishment. Not torture, not lengthy trials.
