On top of that unless Boot Camp and Petty Officer School have changed that much since I wen through them both, all Navy Personal are warned about the Hatch Act and most XO’s warn their sailors about it in election years in the POD.
Petty Officer School

When did they start that?
Or are you referring to “A” School?

then again, you'll probably try to get your 20 in so you'll get your nice fat pension and health care paid for....its little dolts like you that have made a mess of our military....in it for the money and not for the service....
you're probably gay too...
Check the local OWS encampment to find the culprit.
All Newly promoted 3rd classes go through what is called Petty Officer School, it is a 5 day course offered by Commanders and run by the Chiefs and Senior P.O.’s when I was in during the 1990’s
“The only reason I remember this...”
Thanks, good story.
I remember seeing an aircraft carrier in Subic Bay, standing next to it and understanding how huge those things were...damn. The flight deck must of been a mile up.
Once we were departing Danang to go on patrol and flew over the New Jersey while it was lobbing shells into the southern part of North Vietnam. We were at 7K or so feet and it was a clear day. What an impressive sight!
TKS, long gone by then.....<:
We had to ‘wing it’ on our own.....
You try serving under Clinton Military as a NCO and you would need a school or two too, that and allot of Everclear at the end of the day!
Danang, monkey mountain, china beach ... found memories. All from ground level.
His Daddy or Brother’s Uniform or he got bounced from boot camp!
I wouldn’t General public education. Sorry if it smelled too pointed.
I worked for the Navy at Pt Mugu, and Air Force at Edwards, both civil service. My military service was Army.
I think he's the guy on the right.
Thank goodness for FReepers who have knowledge and share it with the rest of us so we can form valid opinions
No negative intent, just curious. If anything, I thank you for your service.
good one!
Ill bet you were a cunning linguist back then. #;^)

Even before it was fashionable....
What is the difference between a midget pickpocket and Rosie Ruiz?
One is a cunning runt. etc etc etc
I was in from 76-80. When I got my Crow the only class I remember was a very short maybe half a day military leadership class. As for wearing our cover on ship? IIRC we only wore them in port. Exceptions to the rules at anytime were the cover came off while on the mess decks {unless you were a mess cook}, chow line, & Divine Services. Really if you were below deck & not actually on an exposed deck you did not have too wear your cover even in port.
BTW the guy wearing Blues in the picture if it's still like it was would make him likely from an east coast command. But with ships now transiting the ditch on a regular basis that too may have changed.
I was in during the time when enlisted uniform went from the what I would call officers type dress blues which was a PITA to care for and stow suit back too the traditional enlisted Crackerjacks worn by E-1 - E-6. I know because I had to buy the Crackerjacks for my final seabag inspection when my EAOS came up. That change happened in either late 79 or 1980. Both uniforms were authorized at that time but for separation as part of your remaining inactive reserve time they required the Crackerjacks.
Oh thank you for the explanation.
