Fox News's Chris Wallace on Sunday asked senior Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs an absolutely delicious question about the current White House resident's schedule.
During a Fox News Sunday interview, the host said, "The President has blocked out time to appear on The View on Tuesday. So, he has time for Whoopi Goldberg but he doesn’t have time for world leaders?" (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for commentary):
CHRIS WALLACE, HOST: I want to go back to the UN though and New York this week. You say that he’s got schedules, that foreign leaders have schedules. But the President has blocked out time to appear on The View on Tuesday. So, he has time for Whoopi Goldberg but he doesn’t have time for world leaders?
ROBERT GIBBS, OBAMA SENIOR CAMPAIGN ADVISER: No, Chris. Look, the President is going to be actively involved at the UN General Assembly.
WALLACE: He’s not meeting with any private leaders. He's giving a speech.
GIBBS: Chris, they have telephones in the White House. Last week, he talked to the President of Egypt. He talked to the leader in Libya. We don't need a meeting in Washington just to confer with leaders. We’ve got a strong...
WALLACE: But he does need the time to be on The View?
GIBBS: We have a strong diplomatic – I’m sure if he was doing an interview with you on Fox News, you’d have no problem with that.
WALLACE: Well, he hasn't, but that’s not the point.
GIBBS: I’m sure that’s not the point. No, look Chris, he’s got a strong schedule. He’s actively involved.
WALLACE: You don't have a problem with the fact that he’s not meeting with any world leaders, but he’s going to appear on The View?
GIBBS: I have no problem with that, because, Chris, you’re the President of the United States every minute of every day.
I’ll salute it every time I see it, with two extended middle fingers.
...hence the reaction of the Fox News customer service executives trying to entice the disillusioned to Fair and Balanced and their added pressures on some Fox pundits to act as much (explains why GOP-e ersatz conservative RINO propagandists like Kristol and Rove getting some well deserved “grief” on their Obama championing “opinions.”)

Whoopi Goldberg is a safe bet, she won’t ask about the blind sheik, the release of the Gitmo murderers, or Unemployment numbers. Meeting with world leaders means he actually has to work..

been watching Chris Wallace the last couple Sundays.
The guy is relentless. I like him...
Would have been nice if they had complained when Dubya held seances with Bono. Those of us who complained about a President wasting his time with an idiot rock star got shouted down.
Obamugabe has his priorities straight. He knows the hordes of brain-dead voters who watch The View and other daytime TV like Maury Povich and Ellen are his key to an election majority. The last thing he wants is to get involved in controversial public policy decisions!
I don’t know if I want him meeting with foreign leaders. All he’ll do is make things worse for us regardless.

IIRC, the meeting with Bono was in regard to the effort to stem AIDS in Africa, for which W is still revered in Tat continent. He was not posing with a celebrity just to seem hip.

So just how does an honest President go into the job with less than a million bucks, and less than four years later buy a Thirty Million Dollar Mansion on the beach in Hawaii?

If you haven’t noticed, Bush hasn’t been president for almost four years now.
And nobody ever had to worry about his love of country. Unlike now.

A truly amazing coincidence happened on Monday night as former President George W. Bush was praised for helping millions in Africa by two separate public figures in two unrelated matters - the fight against AIDS in Africa, and South Sudan’s successful fight for independence - on two different television shows.
As rocker Bono of U-2 appeared as a guest on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman, he praised President Bush for helping to save so far five million lives in Africa over the past eight years because of his push to supply treatment to AIDS patients.
And on Comedy Central’s Colbert Report, guest and human rights activist John Prendergast of the Enough Project, when prodded by host Stephen Colbert, noted that it was under Bush that America used its influence to help the South Sudanese secure a peace deal with the north.
LOL, and when they’re “absolutely clear” you can be absolutely sure of it...

I just watched Wallace’s interview with Gibbs - Gibbs is a slippery sum-b. Bravo for Chris Wallace for staying on it. Point made, even if the question wasn’t answered.
“We have telephones in the White House.” WTF? You can bet that he wouldn’t give that answer if Morsi was trying to get a meeting with Obummer.

Nothing like that can be said about obama's meeting with letterman or other celebrities. Well yes, I guess something could be said but not in polite society.
Then you were wrong. Bush never engaged in this "same nonsense".
Bush rarely met with entertainers and certainly didn't hold cheesy fundraisers with them as Obama does.
On the contrary, Bush was seen meeting a world leader almost EVERY DAY.
In addition, the one picture you post was about policy...millions of lives were saved in Africa because of the AIDS initiative being discussed with Bono.

Obama probably doesn’t even talk on the phone to world leaders because when he does, they can’t believe how ignorant he is.
That’s why I added the qualified “primarily” before the word young. :-)
Did you know that CLINT EASTWOOD APPEARED ON THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW LAST MONDAY?
I was disappointed to see a promo for that. I didn't get to see the interview though and haven't had time to check it out online. (I think Ellen is a genuine comedienne and her show is at least watchable. You couldn't pay me to intentionally watch The View or Povich.)
