Iran Threatens Attack On US Bases in Event of War With Israel

TEHRAN, Iran — A senior commander in Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard has warned that Iran will target US bases in the region should a war with Israel break out.

Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh says no Israeli attack can happen without US involvement, making all US military bases a legitimate target.

I’m no strategist but it looks like a no-lose move for Iran.

I’m sure Iran has our bases under observation. If there’s an increase/change in security status, because Israel signaled to us that an attack is imminent, that could be interpreted as a prelude to an Israeli attack - so they have advance warning. If Israel attacks Iran without warning and Iran attacks us in turn we get on Israel’s case for not giving us a heads up. Perhaps we retaliate against Israel by cutting some aid.

If nothing else, Iran gets in a little saber rattling to maintain their anti-crusader image.

Last I heard, we still have some bases in Turkey. Turkey, last I heard, was a NATO member. If the Persians were to attack a U S base in Turkey, which would emerge:Islamic Turkey or NATO Turkey?

That is a great question! One for which I do not have the answer. I have few answers which are based upon knowing the region. Best guess, is still a don't know, yet iran could count on being whacked.

Regarding the imams and the mullahs ... It is sometimes difficult to not be sorry for them, when considering where they will spend eternity. Bet allah is fired up while he thinks about it and has the fires stoked and readying those fires for them.

Being “out” in the Moslem world is never a good thing. Even in relatively secular Turkey, gays are not welcome. And don’t worry about the misreading: I do that several times a day.
