A missing 15-year-old is believed to have run away to France with one of her teachers, police have told Sky News.
Megan Stammers failed to turn up at Bishop Bell Church Of England School in Eastbourne on Friday and hours later she crossed from Dover to Calais.
Sussex Police have urged either Megan or 30-year-old Jeremy Forrest, who she is believed to be travelling with, to contact them.
Chief Inspector Jason Tingley said they were at a "critical stage of the investigation".
"We are investigating several lines of enquiry and are grateful for the support and co-operation from Megan's family and friends," he added.
"Her family are incredibly worried and want her to come home."

The teacher needs to be shot in the face
I think the age of consent in England is zero.
Remember Romeo and Juliet were 13

If you wanna be happy For the rest of your life, Never make a pretty woman your wife, So from my personal point of view, Get an ugly girl to marry you.
She looks similar to the wife.
Just the fact that they’re running away to “France” says a lot.
Age of consent in England is 16, IIRC.
I used to stammer a lot in class too but I never ran away with my teacher.
Don’t stand so close to me.
Two weeks and a few days.
So sad a tragedy....
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Juliet and her Romeo.
True, but that was set in Verona, Italy.
Interesting, I think the 15 yr. old looks like his wife!
Was the teacher a fan of Woody Allen?
Also remember that Romeo and Juliet were Romans living in a time in which people were adults and able to marry at 13 and the life expectancy was about 21 for males and 24 for females.
Actually, they were Veronese...not Roman.
I think Romeo and Juliet was set contemporary to its writing. 1500. Doesn’t matter. It is a tale of young love and family feuds. Ya know..like the Taylor Swift and the Kennedy’s
But, but they’re in luuuuuuuuve!
You saw that, too?
