I’ve never understood why so many conservatives want to let union thugs hit their kids.

Same here. If parents see the need to physically discipline their children, that's their right and their decision. But I don't trust any public school employee nearly far enough to let them raise their hands to my kids. Getting caught in a cheating incident is a reason to suspend a student - it is not a reason to let some grown man spank or otherwise lay hands on your teenage daughter.
