DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran could launch a pre-emptive strike on Israel if it was sure the Jewish state were preparing to attack it, a senior commander of its elite Revolutionary Guards was quoted as saying on Sunday. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, a brigadier general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, made the comments to Iran's state-run Arabic language Al-Alam television, according to a report on the network's website.

Statements like this are the precursors that lead to wars. Israel will strike Iran and it will come hard and fast and it will be devastating. Iran will be joining the 7th century very soon.

Israel could destroy Iran in 10 minutes, it would be that simple. Iran is all talk, their revolutionary guard is a joke(I have a friend who fled Iran when the Hommani took over and she still has an uncle living in Iran) the Iranian Revolutionary Guard would surrender as fast as the French if they were approached. The main thing is getting rid of Iran’s nukes, that is the problem because they are so deep into the ground I dont know if anything Israel has can penetrate it

Here's the problem: Israel will also have to take out Syria's (and Saddam's) WMD and find a way to check-mate Pakistan from sending over a sympathy nuke. That Lebanon will be turned to glass goes without saying. There are no half measures.

Another issue I forgot to mention is that if Israel strikes Iran all of Israel’s enemies will come to Iran’s defense, it would be World War III. I think Israel is fully aware that they will get zero support from the United States(Especially under Obama) so its up to them to defend themselves. If they think Romney will win they will hold back on attacking Iran, if they have info that Obama will win they will go ahead and do it

What would justify halting anything here in the U.S. just because there is yet another war in the middle east?
We didn’t halt elections because of any foreign war before so why now?

I hope Israel nukes their main command city and be done with it.
I agree that the IRG will not be as fanatic as they were in the Iraq-Iran war, but I don’t think they will collapse, and there won’t be a massive anti-mullah uprising either. Pres. Obama pretty much saw to that when he refused to support the anti-government demonstrations earlier in his term. Iran may take a licking but they’ll keep on ticking, I fear.
Just saying Iran, learn from history..., or suffer the repeat of it.
