Then when you get out what is the law to either put it on or secure it?

I think that Talo 10/22 is ugly.

In Texas, a handgun in your vehicle is not supposed to be in plain sight. If you have a carry license, you can conceal it on your body. If you don’t have a carry license, you can still have a gun in your car, but it should be inside the console or glove box or something.
