Below is an extraordinary, heart-stopping and historic letter. It is a letter SSG Matthew Sitton sent to U.S. Rep. C.W. "Bill" Young after his commanders in Afghanistan told him to "quit whining" about orders to lead patrols without objective "through, for lack of a better term, basically a mine field on a daily basis," as Sitton wrote. Twice daily basis, in fact. On August 2, 2012, Sitton and another US soldier were killed in one the IED-riddled field he spoke of. Eighty-one-year-old Rep. Young, who attends the same church in Florida as the Sitton family, this week announced he no longer supports the presence of US troops in Afghanistan and called for their withdrawal in advance of 2014.

According to the Starkville Daily News, Sgt First Class Stube’s speech was canceled due to a DOD policy barring military from speaking at “charitable events” (not specifically faith based events.)
Catch a Dream Director confirmed the cancellation was due to existing policy regarding involvement of military in fundraising activities.

Snopes info is questionable at times but in these cases it appears they have it right.

Not one word from the Campaigner-in-Chief today at the UN regarding the great sacrifice of our brave Warriors, not one word! He is despicable!

This is a message I received previously, and here it is again:

PLEASE SEND THIS ON TO ANY MILITARY FRIENDS, AND ASK THEM TO FORWARD IT ON.

More than 1,000 American soldiers have lost their lives in
Afghanistan in the last 27 months. This is more than the combined total of the nine years before.

Thirty have died in August. During the last month, over 50
additional NATO and US servicemen have been murdered, inside jobs by those who are hired to be a force for good in Afghanistan .

The commander in chief is AWOL. Not a peep, although he
ordered the White House flag flown at half staff for the Sikhs that were killed. There is a deep disgust, a fury, growing in the ranks of the military against the indifferent incompetence of this president.

It has taken on a dangerous tone. No one knows what to do
about him, but the anger runs deep as the deaths continue with no strategic end in sight to the idiocy of this war.

Obama has had 4 years to end this futile insanity, during
which time he has vacationed, golfed, campaigned, and generally ignored the plight of our men and women in uniform. But, there is now a movement afoot in the armed services to launch a massive get out the vote drive against this president. Not just current active duty types, but the National Guard,Reserves, the retired, and all other prior service members. This is no small special interest group, but many millions of veterans who can have an enormous impact on the outcome of the November election if they all respond.

The million military retirees in Florida alone could mean an overwhelming victory in that state if they all show up at the polls. It might not keep another one hundred U.S. troops from dying between now and November, but a turn out to vote by the military against this heart breaking lack of leadership can make a powerful statement that hastens a change to the indifference of this shallow little man who just lets our soldiers die.

We can all help in various ways to make Mitt Romney our next Commander In Chief! One who will honor and support our Military!

I know many folks can't help with donations as their families come first and that is certainly understood. But those who can not help elect Conservatives through donations can help in many other ways. Put signs in your yard, if you can. But most important, make phone calls from your home or from a call center and help walk your neighborhood precincts passing out information to neighbors. Talk to as many folks as you can, and tell them why you are voting for Mitt Romney. The “boots on the ground” actions like that really do help!

When November 6th comes, I want to be able to say, “I did everything I could”.....NOT... “I wish I did more!” My husband and I will not give up or take time off from doing everything we possibly can! Let's make sure we celebrate on the evening of Nobember 6th!!
