Get Thousands of People to the Polls this November
Completing your college degree shouldn't mean the end of your idealism - don't let your next step in life mean sitting behind a desk doing something you don't love, everyday.
We have 57 days until the election. With unlimited SuperPAC money pouring into this election, there is a real possibility that Mitt Romney and other conservative candidates could win. Don't let the 1% buy this election. Run a voter outreach campaign today. It's not just a dream job, it could be your job.
Grassroots Campaigns is hiring recent college graduates to run our campaign offices across the country.
Grassroots Campaigns is running a state-of-the art voter mobilization effort in 2012 to keep the White House and get more progressive candidates intro office. Building on our experience with ground-breaking get-out-the-vote efforts in 2004, 2006 and 2008 we will be teaming up with some of the leading progressive groups to continue the electoral success of 2008.
Direct: Run voter persuasion, get-out-the vote, and volunteer organizing campaigns to ensure progressive candidates are in office.
Recruitment: Build a team of 15-50 canvassers by recruiting from within the local community. Interview prospective staff and make hiring decisions.
Staff Management: Train volunteers and paid staff in effective get-out-the-vote skills, including door-to-door voter persuasion and mobilization. Work with your staff in individual and group settings, with a particular eye towards developing leaders. Cultivate a welcoming and motivating atmosphere.
Canvassing: Canvass in the field for four-six days per week, to train new and experienced staff.
Strong communication and motivational skills, work ethic, and desire for political change are essential. Candidates must be able to work within a team, have proven leadership ability and experience handling a lot of responsibility. Strong self-direction and the ability to take initiative are also necessary qualifications. Previous field or canvassing experience is a plus, and may qualify candidates for additional leadership positions.
Positions have a minimum commitment through the election. Campaign hours can run 80-100 hours per week, including work on weekends. Staff will need to be ready to go to a battleground state.
Salary and Benefits
Annual salary for Assistant Campaign Directors begins at $24,000. Staff may opt into our health care plan (PPO). Paid training, vacation and sick days are included; student loan assistance is available.
Staff will receive on-going training and support from regional and local senior campaign staff.
Timing and Location
Positions Available Nationwide. Post Elections Positions Available.

NOTE: Anybody know how to get past their roadblock when you try to find out who they are? Internal Server Error
... The first problem is the pay, which has two elements. First canvassers must meet quotas for the amount of donations they solicit, quotas which are high and ambiguous. After meeting quota, canvassers are paid a percentage of the donations they solicit, usually 30 percent. This means canvassers could earn great money if they get a large amount of donations or they could make nothing at all.
The $500-600 a week is definitely slanted, but it's not quite a lie, said Greg Bloom, who worked as a canvass director for Grassroots Campaigns in 2004. A canvasser takes home 30 percent of what they raise, and in 2004 in the big cities like San Diego, people could work six days a week and raise a thousand or more in a day. There were usually only one or two people in an office with that kind of canvassing talent; everyone else would scrape to make the advertised range.
In the meantime, canvassers are forced to 'volunteer' several hours in addition the the time they're paid. Even for the lowest level people, it can be a 60 hour a week job. For the office directors, who are still just 20-24 years old, it can be a 90 hour a week job. ... read article at Salon.com
I’d be happy to open one. Send a big fat check and I’ll get started. It will be open 60 days from today.
Hey, why don't you come knock on my door and persuade me? Yeah, we'll have a nice little chat.
Obama could visit one state each day until the election and cover the entire country.
With your help we can keep the ghetto dwellers fat-n-happy, and out of your neighborhood.”
Or... you could take hopme 100% of what you raise... just sayin’
Or... you could take home 100% of what you raise... just sayin’
The Red Flag went up when Social Justice was mentioned......this grassroots is just another Community Organization which is a Big C Communist effort.
College graduates unemployed due to Obama’s policies can get a sub-minimum-wage job helping to re-elect Obama. And it’s sure to be a resume enhancer in case they ever want to get a job from someone who “did build that”.
Got this email today. Makes you wonder of dems aren’t simply liars and thieves.
REPUBLICAN PANIC...... There’s no denying it now — the House is up for grabs.
Polls across the country show Democrats surging ahead or pulling even with Republicans. Election forecasters are talking about a Democratic sweep — the White House, the Senate, and the House.
Simply put, we’re going to make big, big gains this year — and Republicans are panicking. According to Politico, Republican incumbents just threw another $3.2 million to the NRCC to try to stop the Democratic momentum.
This is our shot to take back the House and put an end to John Boehner’s wing-nut agenda. But we’ll lose that shot unless we have the resources to win.
Can you chip in $10 right now to Get Out The Vote for progressives in close races and take back the House this November?
It’s not hard to see the writing on the wall:
In New Hampshire, progressive rock stars Annie Kuster and Carol Shea-Porter have been running ahead of Republican incumbents Charlie Bass and Frank Guinta in almost every single poll.
In FL-26, DFA-endorsed Joe Garcia is leading corrupt Republican Rep. David Rivera by anywhere from seven to nine points, according to polls.
Even in CA-36 — a race that Republicans never thought would be competitive — Dean Dozen candidate Dr. Raul Ruiz is dead-even with longtime incumbent Republican Mary Bono Mack.
We need to keep the momentum going to win in November. Please chip in $10 right now to make it happen.
Thank you for everything you do.

They had WAY too many hits off of the bong. There is virtually NO way that the Dims will take the House.

Here's one of the staff, working with HOWARD DEAN, Etal!
Amanda McKay, Executive Assistant to Governor Dean
After getting a degree in Biology and realizing she didnt want to make a career of science, Amanda filled her free time with trying to defeat George Bush in 2004. After her first campaign, she continued working to elect Democrats across the country, including Congressmen Dan Maffei and Ted Deutch. Throughout that time, she also worked with the founders of Ben & Jerry's, Business Leaders for Sensible Priorities and TrueMajority. After working on a statewide ballot measure in Oregon, Amanda returned to Vermont, for the third time, to work with Governor Dean and DFA.
When not working, Amanda enjoys anything that will get her outside and moving; skiing, running, hiking, swimming and playing with her dog Jake. She also enjoys traveling around the country with her camera.
