NBC’s Chuck Todd: It’s kind of odd that Obama won’t take any meetings with foreign leaders

He's right, and for a couple of reasons, not the least of which is the unrest in the Middle East. One would think that an American head of state would take advantage of a UN meeting to grab some quality time with leaders in the region and try to hammer out some support. Instead, Barack Obama will be on The View --- and the RNC is making sure everyone knows it:

CLICK ABOVE LINK FOR THE VIDEO

NBC’S CHUCK TODD: “Meanwhile, today the president comes to New York for the United Nations General Assembly where he delivers his speech tomorrow but won’t have a single one-on-one meeting with a world leader on his schedule. Not anybody. This is about a do-no-harm trip and his aides don’t want any unexpected news. Republicans are already making hay of the president making time to tape the View today. He will also deliver a speech at the Clinton Global Initiative. Obama campaign senior advisor Robert Gibbs was pushed about this schedule on Fox News.”

OBAMA CAMPAIGN ADVISOR ROBERT GIBBS: “We have schedules. Leaders have schedules. In many cases those schedules aren’t going to overlap.”

FOX NEWS’ CHRIS WALLACE: “But he has time for Whoopi Goldberg but he doesn’t have time for world leaders?”

GIBBS: “No, Chris look, the president is going to be actively involved at the U.N. General Assembly.”

TODD: “The White House also argues that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice will hold meetings. But folks it is odd to have a president come to the United Nations and not have any bilaterals. Granted it is a campaign year, but still odd considering what’s going on in the Middle East.”

First, kudos to Chuck Todd, who did better than his own network and most of the others in pointing out the problems Obama has on foreign policy. The Sunday talk shows all avoided the subject except for Fox, where Chris Wallace peppered Robert Gibbs on the issue. Just three weeks ago, Obama and the Democrats wanted to make foreign policy a central theme in the election, and the media was happy to cover that strategy … as long as it played well for the White House. Suddenly, we have a dead ambassador, a huge intel loss, and embassies on fire throughout the Muslim world, and all of a sudden the media wants to talk about the economy.

The decision to snub world leaders is even more curious, given the easy optics for Obama. Incumbent presidents have a tremendous prestige advantage in re-election campaigns, which only get enhanced by public têtes-aux-têtes with other heads of state. The fact that the White House is avoiding these opportunities tells you all you need to know about their confidence in foreign policy as a winning issue for Obama in this election now.

Don’t forget Limp Pimp or whatever his name is, that Obama makes time for, rather than the Israeli Pm et al. Abominable that we should have this clown presiding over our country. BTW, just stomached a video of The Wan with the sound muted. He looks like crap. Rough, haggard, dazed...I want to say drugged out, but that cannot be...right?

NOT ALL...repeat, not all, but a lot of the people who don’t work and sit at home all day are losers, lazy and looney. They might watch “The View” but they don’t vote.

I realize that and I didn’t mean to imply that everyone that stays home is a loser, lazy or looney.

I meant the View mostly has viewers that are hooked into Whoopi’s view of life or some of those other biased women that are on that show. Not sure if they still have the token conservative on or not.

But quite a few of the people that think Whoopi is a person to be looked up to would get a “wee-wee’d up” and vote based on what she believes in. If you’ve been getting handouts your entire life (vs. the people that are temporarily getting help because of job loss, personal tragedy etc)you are going to vote to keep that going on.

Well, I would not give kudos to Chuck Todd for his one fleeting moment of thinking out loud.
He’s an owned by the left wing slug who works for the worst unbalanced news company in the US.

chuckie todd is a living example of “conflict of interest”, I put him, little bill maher, chris matthews, brian williams, georgi stenoupolus, wolf blitzer and andrea mitchell on the same wagon. I hope they all go like rather, olberman, gore and oprah...

Foreign leaders will not bow down and worship.

Some of them know who Obama is and where that kind self aggrandizement leads via history.

Does not meet with world leaders. Does not attend security briefings, does not attend his economic and jobs committee meetings, could care less about getting a budget approved, will not meet republican leaders, etc...

Years ago we branded Billy Clinton the “boy President”, but I think Obama’s earned it this time around. Talk about amateur hour.

During a debate, Romney should totally step out of character and say, “For Christ’s sale, Barry, ya went on The View!! The View! The world is melting down, our ambassador was just tortured and murdered, and you’re goin’ on The View??? You’ve been on the job for 4 years, and you still don’t get it, do ya?”

I would pay $100 to see Mitt do something like this.... and then NOT back down at all and hammer the commie muzzlim pig 0dumb0 like this throughout the entire debate. Sigh/ It's good to dream now & then!

Please God let Mitt Romney say this with righteous indignation . He will have ample opportunity. If not it is up to Romney to make the time.

I saw Chuck U Todd having speaks with Brian Williams on NBC news this evening. Both of them expressed concern about O spending time on The View and blowing off foreign relations and the Ambassador’s diary found on the floor four days after his assassination.

Minor miracle. I’m sure that they will assume forgetfulness tomorrow.

Another question arising is the country of origin of the rocket launchers and the mortars. And who planned the hit.

Hint: it wasn’t a member of NATO...

Obama starts his term touting meetings with Iran with no preconditions and by the end of his first term he won’t meet with any of them.

This guy is a world class fruit loop! Not to disparage Fruit Loops!

...a majority of the electorate in 2008 voted for a guy as POTUS who had no distinguishable achievement in life other than being half black, clean and articulate.

Oh, it was more than that...

Don't forget "the sharp crease in his trousers"!

No, when a president insists on, say, beginning every presser with a brain-teaser, that’s odd. When our country is basically assaulted by way of an embassy invasion coupled with the murder of our ambassador, and the president speaks at a rally less than 24 hours later and calls it a “bad day”, that’s treason and evil.
