Pakistani Foreign Minister: 'Maybe We Do Need to Rethink How Much Freedom is Okay'
CNSNews ^ | September 24, 2012 | Michael W. Chapman

(CNSNews.com) – Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar told CNN's "Situation Room" last week that if freedom of speech in the United States provokes people in the Muslim and Arab world to take actions against Americans then “maybe we do need to rethink how much freedom is okay.”

CNN's Wolf Blitzer told Khar that the previous day he had interviewed Prof. Fouad Ajami of Stanford University's Hoover Institution. Blitzer had asked Ajami: "Is this going to get better, this relationship between America and the Muslim and Arab world?"

Ajami had responded: "No. That really is the honest answer. I mean, when you have these kinds--when you have these positions are so sharply drawn. We believe in the West, we believe in the Western tradition and ... of free speech."

Blitzer asked the Pakistani foreign minister if she agreed with Ajami.

"I see that this certainly can get better," she said. "And I think what we need is more tolerance for each other's views. What we need is to be able to give mutual space for us to be able to demonstrate what is culturally, religiously important to us and not to hold each other--you know, not to judge each other for that, to give that space and to be able to create some space for ourselves.

"And really, Wolf," she said, "I think we have to be sensitive to religious sensitivities. I think it's not good enough to say it's free speech, it should be allowed. I think if this does provoke action against American citizens or Americans anywhere else in the world, then maybe we do need to rethink how much freedom is OK.

"Is freedom to the extent of harming lives also OK?" she said. "So, I think we need to find a way to manage this in a civilized manner in trying to bring all of our, you know, all of our minds together."

When asked about “awful things” said about other religions in the Arab and Muslim world and that there are no massive demonstrations and violence in response, Khar said, “Well, I don’t want to get deeper into that discussion because I quite frankly think that in Islam there is a lot of respect for both Judaism and Christianity. The Koran itself has a lot of respect, and that’s why this is why, I think, this is a common battle because Islam is a religion of peace.”

“Prophet Muhammed’s life is a life of peace,” said Khar. “He is called the messenger of peace, for instance. So this is very different than the Islam that is portrayed to you when you see that street violence."

"Is freedom to the extent of harming lives also OK?" she said.

FM Hina Rabbani Khar has been seriously brainwashed regarding her religion. I say to her, is a religion to the extent of harming lives OK? I think not.

“”So, I think we need to find a way to manage this in a civilized manner in trying to bring all of our, you know, all of our minds together.”

That only works with civilized people-—not muslim savages.

The ancient Japanese had a custom whereby a person when he or she just couldn't take it anymore........

Maybe Moslems could adopt that tradition and cut out the BS

Islam needs a reformation. 12th century norms don’t work well in the 21st century.

And so do we. I say we need a lot more freedom.

Muzzies declare their right to murder us over our Free Speech.

Kinda seems intractable.

Seeing as Mohammed was a Child Rapist and how Islam sucks for its adherents. Just stating the truth makes them homicidal.

Not all of them.

However, she did use the KEYWORD.

The new KEYWORD in the DEMOCRATIC/SOCIALIST/ISLAMIC party is RETHINK.

Do a SEARCH on RETHINK, and just about any DEM politicians name.

“Prophet Muhammed’s life is a life of peace,”

The "peaceful" image given to Muhammed is a Trojan Horse for the savagery that will take place when they decide to take your country over. Just ask France.

When a people attack Judeo-Christianity and engage in their mass murder, and then riot when Mohammed is treated to a Monty Python's Flying Circus type of satire, one askes, "What alternate universe are these people from?"

I say a ‘religion’ that preaches death to apostates is a dangerous cult that should be outlawed.

And that doesn’t begin to address the revolutionary political aspect to it.

The Protestant Reformation was an attempt to shed the Catholic encrustations of the previous 1000 years and go back to original principles.

The current Arab 'Spring' is a similar attempt, trying to get rid of the Ottoman sloth and fecklessness, replacing them with the original fervor and blood-thirsty drive of their prophet.

I'd be happy if this round of oil riches let the current crop of muslims into the moneyed decadence that befell the Ottomans due to the Silk Road riches. It had started happening to the Saudis, but some of the grandkids aren't happy with a life of fast cars, boats and blonde concubines, and are feeding the current frenzy with money supporting Wahabi mosques across the world.

Unfortunately, the way of jihad has become the bread and circus formulation to stir the mob, to provide a wave of trouble that the power-hungry want to use to ride to world domination.

Islam needs to go the way of the Aztec religion.

Tell the ACLU you are having 2 barbecues this week (during banned book week). At one of them you are roasting a bacon wrapped copy of The Satanic Verses. At the other a sausage drenched copy of the koran.

Ask them which they will be attending/protesting.

Mooolimbs are treating freedom of speech the same way the treat the beauty and sexuality of a woman. In the latter case, any problem is the woman’s fault. In the former case, it is forbidden to utter any disagreement with Islam and any reaction by Mooselimbs is entirely the fault of the person who insulted them.

But we already knew that Islamic cultures had a big problem with taking responsibility for personal decisions. This comes a no surprise.

But the religious meta-theme here makes it appear that ‘allah’ can’t take care of himself. He can only survive on earth because of how fervently his followers protect him. I am tempted to think that should Islam cease for a single day, nobody would lament its passing. Indeed, Islam is one big spiritual prison with Satan as the gatekeeper.

Allow me to add that our rights come from God, who is NOT allah. Our God gives everyone the right of free speech, the right to own property and all the other rights that CANNOT BE ALIENATED. It is oppressive societies, governments and religions of man that destroy rights.

One can see that the Bible was written by many people over many centuries but it has consistent themes. It makes many claims, but where the claims can be verified, they are always true. In fact, the Bible contains many passages that are prophetic, that is they are history written in advance. The Bible can be read and largely understood by anyone willing to let it speak for itself.

Just try and read the koran from cover to cover. I dare you. Its story is inconsistent. But worse, you cannot understand it and this is why, when you see passages of any length quoted, they are ALWAYS quoted with commentary or interpretive aids. People cannot allow the koran to speak for itself because it cannot say much at all that is coherent.
