During a Saturday fundraiser in Beverly Hills, Calif., which took in $6 million, Mitt Romney expressed his concerns over Ann Romney’s emergency landing on Friday. The candidate cast doubt on the mechanical design of airplane windows, in a general sense.
“When you have a fire in an aircraft, there’s no place to go, exactly, there’s no — and you can’t find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don’t open. I don’t know why they don’t do that. It’s a real problem. So it’s very dangerous....” he said.

I was right. Read the story and he was talking about his wife’s situation. AND it was a joke.

Agreed! Let’s talk about the POLITICAL aspects of aviation, about airlines being flown into bankruptcy by insane Obama fuel costs and greedy unions, and don’t even GET me started on the TSA.....

At least Mitt didn’t run off to party with Beyonce after folks died, and allow the consulate to be sacked of sensitive Information.

I really doubt it was an intelligence failure, but, rather a willful submission to circumstances with no other possible outcome.
All I know is it is all over his shoe, and Americans are dead, and even more have been compromised.

It has already been invented over 60 years ago for pressurized aircraft. On the Lockheed Electra/Navy P-3 aircraft it is called “Aux Vent”, and with one switch activation, cabin pressure is immediately dumped out of an emergency valve in the front of the aircraft and the outflow valve in the rear (that is normally used to modulate/maintain cabin air pressure). It works at any altitude, so above 10K ft. altitude, everyone aboard should immediately find auxiliary breathing oxygen or risk passing out until the aircraft completes an emergency descent to a lower altitude (which may take several minutes). The purpose is to starve onboard fires of oxygen and evacuate smoke.
