As the U.N. General Assembly convenes this week in New York, several leaders of mostly Muslim nations are suggesting that the world body consider sanctions on blasphemy, amid widespread protests against an amateur movie that denigrates Islams Prophet Muhammad.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he will focus at least part of his remarks on the film when he addresses the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday.
I am the prime minister of a nation, of which most are Muslims, that has declared anti-Semitism a crime against humanity. But the West hasnt recognized Islamophobia as a crime against humanity. It has encouraged it, Mr. Erdogan told reporters last week.
Turkey heads the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a body of 57 nations, which has long pushed for a U.N. resolution condemning the defamation of religion.
Nonbinding versions of the resolution have been adopted, but the effort was crushed last year by religious groups and human rights activists who argued that it represented a dangerous step toward an international law against free speech.
The debate has been reignited by Innocence of Muslims, a crudely produced film made in the United States that has sparked fury in the Muslim world. Protesters have breached the walls at U.S. embassies and desecrated American flags in sometimes violent demonstrations. A protest in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi ended with the deaths of the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton appealed Monday to Muslims to show dignity and not resort to violence as they protest the film, the Associated Press reported.

It is becoming clear this is the coordinated attack on first amendment much like the fast and furious initiative against the second admendment. The guys really do want complete control.
He wrote about it in his book why is anyone surprised?
I’m curious to see how any American supporting this protection of Islam squares it with applying the same standard to Christianity (or any other religion for that matter).
First the ban, then the requirement to convert to islam.
It isn’t a phobia when something is a clear and present danger.
Islam is no more religion than Communism. Fear and loathing of one is the same as the other. Both systems seek to destroy what the creators of our nation wrought; an unthinkable act.
Turkey heads the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a body of 57 nations,
Organization of Islamic Cooperation=Caliphate
We as citizens must seriously consider the attacks being made on the 1st Amendment and 2nd Amendment. These two amendments essentially constitute our oxygen.
>> Islam is no more religion than Communism
Islam is a war plan that’s alleged to have murdered, raped, or enslaved over 250 million Christians and Jews.
Remember also that the Islamic-Jihadist-appeasing and Moose-limb Brotherhood-supporting, commie, scumbag, Dear Leader, repeatedly has said that he consider Erdogan to be a close personal friend and one of the five top international friends. ...
It is an assault on free speech, and a grab for control alright. First Islam will be protected. Then “to be fair” other religions too. But I ask you, how big does a religion have to be to be protected against these hate/thought crimes? Certainly we don’t want to discriminate... Every kook out there - and not a few well planned and backed groups - will spring up with a religious grievance. Goodbye to everything on the liberal hit list: talk radio, internet sites like this, you name it. The list of forbidden words phrases, actions, thoughts will grow by leaps and bounds. All in the name of not offending anyone’s religion, but really just to control us, stifle dissent from their power... The easy result of this thought experiment is to see there is no reasonable bound, best not to start down this path at all. Best to recognize no one ever promised you wouldn’t be offended. Get over yourself, suck it up.
A phobia is an irrational fear.
If this was 1944 this would be the same as having the POTUS backing the arrests of anyone saying Hitler was evil.
islam is wrong, wrong wrong.
If we have to become rebellious crusaders against Islam forced to conceal our identity, forced to lie to protect our families, forced to hold secret meetings with others like an underground resistance waging war against an invasive cult.
As well he should, being the head of the largest "Moslem led nation."
islam is in itself an insult and a crime against humanity. The entire ‘civilized’ world should ban it and then shun any nation which practices it. It is completely incompatible with Western civilization and the West is being brought low by its perpetual toleration of the intolerable.
Appeasement is suicide.
How heavily enforced are antisemitism laws enforced in other countries? I doubt that saying anything against Jews is really punished. It is when those words and actions are combined with criminal acts such as rape, robbery and murder then it is punished more so for the crime.
/sarc/ Muslims need to put forth their kinder gentler side. /sarc/ LOL
>Turkey heads the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a body of 57 nations,
Now I know why 0bama slipped and said 57 states. The POS is a practicing islamist. Smart money says his daughters marry a scumuzzy.
The movie protests were started to hide Hillary’s incompetence. The Arabs would have never heard of it if not for her.
Perhaps she will have equal vigor in condemning the Mooselip murder of Christians and Jews as she is ending free speech?
Pray for America
His daughters are elitist who will not marry because it is beneath them to do so
The Muslim community can NOT force me to bow to Islam. Can't be done. I will die before blaspheming the name of God and accepting that religion which is directly opposed to God, Christ and Christianity. We allow them to practice their religion here (which IS a mistake) and they where they live do not allow the practice of any other religion as much as is possible for them to prevent it. Total hypocrisy.
Dang. I think you're on to something.
Yep, it’s a set up and Islamism is incompatible with American liberty.
NB: Erdogan knows and has named his enemy.
When you are dealing with a pedophile 6th century sand monkey who has created one of the largest hoaxes on humanity and has caused nothing but death and destruction, just exactly how do you insult him? Seems no matter how harsh the words, they are true.
Why not just ban Muzzies ?
Insult is that Abomination sitting on the HOH of the Jewish Temple site!
The Jews were there first. Our God gave it to them first. It's theirs.
The slimes built there intentionally as an INSULT!
The most hate-filled people in the world are these very radical muslims who hate everyone who is not like them. Their satanic faith is worth being on the very bottom of the ash heap of history.
I never really noticed that islam had a body of 57 nations.
The stupidity and evil of muslims always took my mind elsewhere and pushed such details aside.
Why don’t all the mooslims protest by leaving intolerant America...yeah!!!
Yeah well I urinate in the direction of mecca and I am in disgust of this gutter “religion”.
But still I have a higher opinion of this than I do of the U.N.
> Turkey heads the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a body of 57 nations ...
Odd, how that 57 number keeps coming up in anything muzzie.
Mohammed was a child rapist.
It bears repeating Islam’s sordid history. Every time they try to shut us up.
I'll tell you what - let's compromise and just declare Islam a crime against humanity.
I wonder if this is “offensive” or “an insult” that would have to be internationally banned:
Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
On 911 my opinion was to kill them all and let God sort it out — my opinion has not changed.
But it will still be legal for them to insult you.
Now you Islamophobes go pay your taxes and have a nice day. :)
Great image. I had used that one in MOHAMMED’S GIRL =
