A whopping tax increase is scheduled for 2013 on the working poor. Those making $36,200 will see their Federal taxes increase from 10 percent to 15. That's a whooping 50 percent tax increase on the working poor.
Under Obama, the US Senate adjourned, leaving this increased tax on the working poor. Nevermind, they failed to make their required budget (X times in a row), but they left an immoral tax increase on the working poor.
Beyond that, the Democratic Senate left in place a 2% Social Security tax increase upon them as well.
Obama promised their would not be a tax increase on the middle class, but he never said there would be a tax increase on the working poor. The middle class will feel it, just not as much as the working poor will. For the middle class it will cost us $1218 at a minimum.
But for the working poor, the tax increases will drive many families back into poverty who are already under severe stress from this economy.
With 47% of the population not paying any taxes, 15% multipled by zero is still zero! No sympathy here for the “working poor”.
The working poor (an Obama phrase), as those who Earn Money. You know, like work?
“You know, like work?”
Yea, I know what work is. Do you know what paying taxes is? 47% don’t pay taxes. Understand?
Those evil democrats killing the poor just to promote their own agenda of power.
How could they do this? They don’t give a damn. Not one.
They are looking for something to blame on the Republicans or just about anyone else.
My husband and I are a couple of the working poor. thanks for pointing out that we don’t pay any taxes...but wait! then where does all that money they take out of our paychecks go? what about my property taxes that i pay? sales tax, gas tax etc? I’m so glad i don’t pay any taxes! s/
Not only is it whooping, it is whopping as well.
Yes. In their hurry to tax the "Rich" they hit the poor.
If Obama really cared about the working poor, he would recall the Senate back into session and stop this immoral tax upon the Working Poor.
An Obamabot who likes increased taxes on the working poor. How interesting.

15% + SS/Medicare 15% = 30%.

I doubt they pay a dang dime after all the deductions and other crap they get. What a stupid lying story.
The Obamabot is you. You are using Obama’s talking points about the “working poor”. When the working poor “has some skin in the game”, then I will feel for them. Otherwise, those “millionaires and billionares” are paying most all the taxes.
Don't feel for the working poor. How interesting.
This is the Sleeper Subject of this Election. The Democrats pretend to care for the working poor, yet let this happen upon their watch.
You’re having a hard time with reading comprehension, aren’t you? Or do just like twisting words to your meaning? You know exactly the point I’m making.
Congratulations. You are having an epiphany.
The senate democrats adjourned because their plans have NOTHING to do with helping the poor, no matter what they say.
Democrats’ plans have EVERYTHING to do with increasing their own power.
Impoverishing those trying to escape the poverty cycle increases dependence on government. Dependence on government is the dems’ favorite opiate for the masses.
Reward success; punish failure.
If your right, the US Senate did stop the tax increase on those making up to $36,250. And they also stopped the Social Security increase from 4.2% to 6%.
I'll bite. When did they do that?
The poor are the biggest tax consumers, tax the hell out of them!!!!
i’m tired of paying their way in life!!!
bigger refunds
Good Obamabot. Thanks for showing us how you feel.
Democrats count on “the working poor” being so clueless as to vote for Obama regardless of the consequences. To see Howard Stern’s interviews with these cretins, who think that Paul Ryan is a Black V-P candidate running with Obama, is astounding.
We really do need to institute some kind of elementary test that people have to score at least 60% on before they are registered to vote.
Right now, most of the 'working poor' have no idea what is about to hit them. I blame bad reporting for this.
Journalists would rather talk about Egypt and Libya than what is to befall the poor. They would rather talk about that stuff and gain attention than to defend the working poor.
They have no clue how increasing the minimum wage hurt the poor and our teenagers. They repeat Harry Reid's saying the economy is OK.
It's not, and unemployment among minorities and our young people is at an all time high. And the future of many is now dimmed.
If Obama was half the man they say he is, he would bring back the Senate to prevent this from befalling the working poor. And he will chastise his party for ever letting this sit on the books.
