Skip to comments.CNBC Poll: Economy’s Worse, but Obama Favored to Fix It
Posted on 09/25/2012 7:10:52 AM PDT by tatown
A national CNBC poll finds President Barack Obama holds a commanding lead over Mitt Romney on the key issue of who would be better for the economy over the next four years.
Obama gets that nod even though Americans, by overwhelming margins, believe the economy is worse now than it was four years ago when Obama's term began.
Our latest CNBC All-America Economic Survey of 800 American adults across the nation shows Obama with a nine-point lead over Romney, 43 percent to 34 percent, on who would do a better job on the economy in the future.
At the same time, 55 percent say the economy is worse off than it was four years ago and just 22 percent think its better. Seventeen percent say its about the same.

are they completely out of their minds? I don’t get it.
And we would trust a CNBC poll because.............
Yeah, he has done such a great job fixing the economy the past 3-1/2 years.
If it’s got NBC anywhere in the letters, it is TOTAL EFFING BALLSHOOT.
I don’t believe this BS. RATs, who admit to voting for the Apologist, aren’t voting for him again. I don’t buy the propaganda being spewed by the MSM or the bogus polls. Don’t waste your BP on believing any of this feces. These lies are being sent out hourly to demoralize us. MSM = Tokyo Rose 2012.
800 American adults....
Obama is still going to receive plenty of votes from the "Like, OMG!" crowd. It's American Idol to them.
I got mine.
Please quit posting these depressing lame liberal polls. No one believes Obummer has a clue on how to fix the ecomony. He’s a train wreck. It wouldn’t surprise me if I read on here that a new poll shows Obama is really Morman and Romney is half-black. Enough is enough.
Considering the economic failure of this incumbent this race should not even be close nationally. It is. The only ads and spin I see coming from the Obama campaign are personal negative attacks vs the challenger basically because Obama has no record to run on and absolutely no ideas.I see no negative Obama ads put out by Romney. Romney needs to bring a gun to this knife fight. Can the soaring rhetoric for now and go negative on Obama and the Obama economy all the time to get Obamas numbers back down.I want to see ads with plenty of foreclosure signs, unemployment office lines, high gas price signs, out of business signs ending with a photo of Obama on the golf course to emblazon this failed economy on the minds of the short term memory voters currently distracted by shiny objects the MSM and Obama campaign is flashing at them to distract them from the issue of this failed economy.
“NFL officiatiing is at it’s worst but the players and fans want to keep the replacement refs”.
The press is pumping this crap out because they're so afraid he's going to lose.
“Technical note: The CNBC All America Economic Survey is a comprehensive quarterly survey conducted for the past five years aimed principally at gauging Americans views on economic and financial issues. It has always been a survey of all adults, and not of registered or likely voters. As a result, its results may not be comparable with other political surveys.”
With each passing year, intellectual quality of the American voter declines.
The “media” has for months directed them to believe Obama is THE MAN for fixing the economy. And like the pathetic, mindless sheep they are... they comply. Not even a bleat of protest.
Land of the free? Hope of the brave? Still? Really???
Someone has to be lying to the pollsters. That, or we are too stupid to have a free country.
Romney certainly has his flaws, but he has forgotten 1000 times over more about finance, economics, business and leadership than Obama has ever known. To say otherwise is just stupid!
It worked for FDR for 16 years.
NBC = always slants far left and oversamples by double-digits.
No doubt there is a campaign to dispirit us.
My concern is that even ‘reliable’ pollsters like Rasmussen have shown Obama’s standing to have improved to some degree over the past several weeks. It’s even showing up on his generic ballot, impacting the senate races.
After nearly 4 years of this shit, I don’t understand how anyone could think that Obama is anything but bad for this country...
How about doing one of likely voters, or are your interns too busy looking at porn, CNBC?
Who are these people surveying? However, watching Howard Stern’s interviews of Obama supporters in Harlem I have a pretty good guess.
Survey of 800 American ADULTS = BULLSHIT.
Ten point Democrat sampling advantage = BULLSHIT.
The author’s name is even Steve LIES-MAN.....
I mean, they even come right out and freakin TELL YOU....
Are Americans really that stupid? They see what this fool has already screwed up and they wnat to elect him to do it some more.
Is this a college initiation where they hit you with a board and you have to ask for more?
If only the ultra stupid were affected I would say let them rot, but I am in this boat too and damned if I aint bailing hard to stay afloat while the stupid are drilling holes in the bottom.
This is a 10 point Democrat oversample. I did the math.
We used to laugh the lies Pravda published, but now our “Journalists” put them to shame.
Which constitutes a huge proportion of the voting public. Howard Stern's idiot-on-the-street interviews with Obama voters say volumes about the ongoing decline.
Their side has spent four months on the moderate recovery message, and our side has not challenged it. That’s the bottom line. As the economy gets worse, the Dems are actually getting less blame because of ‘4.5 million jobs created’ and ‘consecutive months of growth’. Our side needed to get an opposing view out there placing the slight uptick in context...that we fell to the bottom and are still stuck at the bottom.
“The authors name is even Steve LIES-MAN.....”
Okay Laz, you get the post of the day for that one. LMAO That’s some funny shit, I don’t care who you are. :0)
We deserve total chaos and collapse if we get this scumbag for a second term.
The fine print at the end...this is a survey of ‘all adults’...not even ‘registered voters’.
Idiocracy...It’s got electrolytes!
If true, I suppose the only thing that will cure our fellow citizens of the stupid is a heavy dose of economic pain. This pain is coming one way or the other. With Obama, the pain could very well be fatal to this republic.
They seem to think the guy that did so much collateral damage ALREADY in his lame attempts to “fix” the economy, is suddenly going to straighten out and fly right NOW?
Some people should just never be in the pilot’s seat.
The airship of the United States was hijacked in 2008. Time to “take back the con”, or it will fly into the ground.
“Bricks thrown through your window? Call Al’s Glass”
I've actually renamed them. They are the Pravda Press. Our media is 100% Soviet-ized already. This is EXACTLY what is was like to live in the former Soviet Union, with Pravda and Isvestia simply lying outright at you and not caring at all if you caught them.
You are exactly right. There is a still a large perecentage (the last I seen it was still a majority) that still blames Bush for the economy over Obama. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is said by our side to refute it. Well guess what? That is now conventional wisdom 40 days out from the biggest election of our lifetimes!
The more he phuques up America, our economy, our defenses and alliances, and the more he subverts our values and ideals, the more his followers think they need more of him.
Sigmund Freud wrote about a “death wish” in the human psyche.
Perhaps he was onto something....
“Yeah, I got a solution, you’re a d@ck! South Carolina what’s up?”
LEFTIST MEDIA! Not liberal
Liberal is a warm fuzzy word.
Leftist is a truth about our media and people know that leftists are jackbooted.
I’m not one of the Obama crowd, but I’ve posted repeatedly for months that neither candidate gets what needs to be done to fix the economy.
Neither candidate talks about restoring the protective trade tariffs that were in place since the Founding Fathers.
Romney wants more free trade agreements instead of fixing and repairing the damage done by the ones we’ve already got.
Romney/Ryan want to cut people’s support to force them back to work, before there are jobs for them to take. That’s going to result in more foreclosures and more business failures.
Obama wants to put more people on the government payroll. And to bail out more industries when they fail, instead of raising the tariffs to prevent their failures in the first place.
It’s kind of a wash between the two. Romney would help us marginally on energy more than Obama. But Romney would hurt the economy and conservative’s reputation by the premature cutting of people’s safety net. Meanwhile neither candidate addresses trade.
I say Romney would help us “marginally” on energy because while he supports cutting regulations on energy, he wants a two year approval process for same site nuclear reactors. Which means he is not likely to approve nuclear reactors until his second term. Meanwhile U.S. oil production is up anyway despite Obama.
In fact, time to cram that into a tagline somehow.
Copy that 5X5!!! They have nothing but manlove for BS.
Because Repubs refuse to engage the democrats, that is why this is believable. Why does Pelosi and Reid spew their hyperbolic garbage, which is always posted on this site for ridicule, but Repubs take this mythological “high road” of moderate yellow “belly-ism”?
Repeat a lie/line often, which hyperbole and disingenuous proclamations are cried out, and don’t be surprised if people start to believe all the lies.
I would take President Hector Elizando Camacho over our current one any day of the week.
Yeah, but, see, I wasn't joking.
I don't think it was an accident. In fact, I bet it was a pen name. They are coming right out and telling us, outright. They don't care.
They don't care we know of their agenda. They don't care if they lie. They don't even care if they get caught.
I guarantee you this will be the new logo at, for example, MSNBC.
He’s gonna tax the rich until we are prosperous again, doncha know?
