Morsi wants free speech linked to responsibility

NEW YORK (AP) -- Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi said freedom of expression must be used responsibly in a speech Tuesday to the Clinton Global Initiative in New York that hinted at looming tensions in the newly-democratic nation.

Morsi, a key figure of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, repeated several times that he was the "first, democratically elected, civilian president of Egypt" and earned applause by asking his audience to "see a new Egypt."

Islamists (political Islam, sharia law advocates) have no relevant status to speak of responsibility vis-a-vis inalienable rights.

Their "law" is what they claim their god says -- our Creator could not possibly ordain such horrors and deaths as Islamists cause people to suffer.

Americans need to be flooding their local media, blogs, local pols and fed /big counterparts with emails/letters saying that we will not comply with muslim Sharia/whatever attacks on free speech.

Nor will we comply with governmental curbs on free speech.

If anyone attempts to abridge our freedom of speech, that person is violating one of our most fundamental God-given human rights along with one of our most fundamental human rights. Such an attempt to control free people falls into the category "Casus belli" - a cause or justification for war. I don't think even Obama would go that far, not until after the election when he promises to have more flexibility.

The government keeps pushing because they do not believe we are prepared for war - flexibility or not.

The government believes we will never make an offensive move.

The government believes we will never make a defensive move.

The government believes we will slide passively into slavery.

The government has overstepped its boundaries not without question, but certainly without action.

The government will pretty soon have us fear free speech, so there goes any questioning.

The government does not believe that we will take action, as is our right under the constitution.

The government does not believe CWII will happen no matter what they do.

The Government believes that places like FreeRepublic are merely outlets where upstarts blow off a little steam - talk big - act angry - this, they believe, they will control

I see the media is STILL FLOGGING that attacks in Libya were in response to a barely seen internet video.

I don’t believe one word out of this lying pos’s mouth concerning free speech and rights. Any person who is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood is just another fascist b.....d. While there is an element of the Egyptian population (maybe 20-30%) that does believe in the western ideals of free speech and the rest, they’re heavily outnumbered by the many illiterate and violent Egyptians who favor jihad and crushing liberty.
