100 million will die?

Really?

Based on what, leftist fantasies?

The Left used to use smaller numbers, like in 100,000 women will die if abortion on demand is not passed.

When the sheep aren’t scared enough, simply inflate the number.

lol

I predict that in 2030 they will have some lame excuse for why this didn’t happen, or claim that they never said such a ridiculous thing, and will then be predicting that is WILL still happen... just in to 2060 :)

These idiots are like the morons that predict the end of the world every decade or so based on a secret bible code or something nutty like that.

Can we pick the 100 million? In that case, I move that the first few million consist of those who wrote the report, and those who believe its contents. Thanks Free ThinkerNY.

I did a search and found over 50 million a year die worldwide each year now. So if we don’t act on climate change only 100 million will die in 18 years. So climate change saves lives?

The alarmists are good at predictions that never come true.

In 2005, the United Nations Environment Programme predicted that climate change would create 50 million climate refugees by 2010. These people, it was said, would flee a range of disasters including sea level rise, increases in the numbers and severity of hurricanes, and disruption to food production.

Good news is that illegal immigration will stop because undeveloped countries will bear the most deaths. In the case of Mexico and Latin America this means more jobs for those remaining people in those countries. More jobs less need to illegally cross the bounder. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Remember Paul Erlich’s `Population Bomb,’ other doom-and-gloom stuff from the `70s, and Jimmy Carter predicting we would run out of oil by 1990?

Japan is in a demographic death spiral—in fact they recently recorded more deaths than births in a recent year. `Eurabia’ and scandinavia have flat or negative birth rates (they aren’t replacing themselves) but all with a surfeit of muslims, of course. We are at least replacing ourselves, ahead of Canada. And of course we’re a long way from tapping the last of our oil.
Left-wing loons are always wrong and around Halloween they get scary and especially stupid.

According to WolframAlpha, with a global population of 6.79 billion people, the global annual death rate is 56.6 million.

So I would imagine quite a few more than 100 million will die by 2030. Around 962 million by 2030.

Bangladesh has tens of millions of people living only a few feet above sea level. Severe typhoons rush up the Indian Ocean pushing huge tidal surges, that can drown millions. I drove along the Gulf Coast from Florida to New Orleans in 2006. It was still easy to see that the tidal surge had been at least 20 feet above sea level for hundreds of miles along the coast.

Back in the 60s, Paul Ehrlich, the Population Bomb hoaxster, predicted four billion people would starve to death, including 60 or 70 million Americans. What happened? The population doubled, but despite that, the amount of available food per person increased by a third. No one starved (at least not as a result of a world population bomb) and there is more food per person than ever! Did Ehrlich hide his face in shame? No, he’s still predicting we’re all gonna die!

These doom and gloom idiots ought to commit suicide rather than put up with everyone laughing at them all the time.

Clearly, we need to do something about "climate change", and fast!

"Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects. They concede that some of the more spectacular solutions proposed, such as melting the Arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot or diverting arctic rivers, might create problems far greater than those they solve..."

"The longer the planners delay, the more difficult will they find it to cope with climatic change once the results become grim reality."

Newsweek: The Cooling World (April 28, 1975)

From the original "climate change" scam, the one known as "global cooling".

There is a better chance that 100M will die if the desired “fixes” for AGW are implemented.

Less 3rd world development and lower availability of electricity in the developed world.
Lower food production levels for all.
Increased transportation costs, making food distribution more costly, and prohibitive in the 3rd world.

The way the Moslems are killing each other in Middle East/Asia Minor/Pakistan-Afghanistan corridor, they will get their 100 million on their own.

If only we could double or triple-down on these psychos, taking out much of Pakistan and Taliban-held Afghanistan, the world would be a much safer and saner place.

That’s a very, very safe prediction. Within eighteen years way MORE than 100 million people will die FROM OLD AGE alone!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortality_rate

The mortality rate is 9.5 per 1000 worldwide, so given that the world population is 6 bils plus, the total number of people that die EACH YEAR is 57 million.

Somebody needs to go back and learn some basic math:

Currently, approximatley 56,500,000 people die in a year. 2030 is 17 years away - 56,5000,000 x 17 = nearly 1 BILLION dead by 2030.... with or without so-called “global warming”.

Now - if they are trying to say 100 million per year by that date... still totally plausible regardless of climate - as the world population rapidly grows, so the annual death toll will also likely match...

All with or without any climate change.

Oh - and just a historical tidbit - recorded history shows average temperature far above todays... Indeed, the whole “renaissance” was largely brought on by warming temperatures.

2030? If we don't vote Obama out of office NOW, 100M people will die by this time next year!

Methodology*

Population = 7B
Average lifespan = 70**
1/70 of the population dies each year
7B / 70 = 100M

* - "Methodology" might be a bit too strong a word here
** - The average world lifespan of 70 is high. It's actually much worse than I said! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE UNLESS WE VOTE HIM OUT NOW!!!!

Hilarious bulls**t. Just like the hundreds of millions that Paul Ehrlich predicted in 1970 that would die by the end of the twentieth century if population increases weren’t stopped.

On the other hand, I appreciate this posting, since I’ll be able to use it in my classroom to demonstrate propaganda and bias as it exists in the present day. Although I won’t use the word bulls**t. But I will think it.

The life expectancy at birth of the world is 67.2 years

# people on earth / average life span = natural deaths per year

7,000,000,000 / 67.2 = 104,166,667 will die each year, from simply being too old to keep living.

In ten years, 1,041,666,667 (One Billion) will die, from simply being too old to keep living.

In twenty years, 2,083,333,333 (Two Billion) will die, from simply being too old to keep living.

Quick, somebody panic!!!
