Romney: Obama 'Did Not' Raise Taxes (who nominated this idiot?)
ABC ^ | 9/25/2012 | Gregory J. Krieg

Posted on 09/26/2012 3:30:44 AM PDT by markomalley

Paul Ryan stood by helplessly, and in apparent pain, as Mitt Romney strayed from campaign talking points on President Obama's tax record during a joint "reset" rally today in Ohio.

In the midst of remarks ridiculing the president's handling of the economy, Romney said: "I admit this, he has one thing he did not do in his first four years - he's said he's going to do in the next four years, which is to raise taxes."

During the primaries, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul offered a very different view of the presidents record, when she told the L.A. Times: "President Obama has raised taxes 19 times."

It is embarrassing to see how so many Freepers the MSM can play like brainless Pavlovian dogs.

Indeed.

The pain you feel today is the strength you'll have tomorrow.

So to report this “gaffe” the media will have to point out that Obama did raise taxes.

So far Obama did not raise income tax but as Romney said in this interview he will be raising them if he is re-elected... What is the big deal here?

RE :”go get em tiger !!! this is the tool thats going to save the Republic ???
good thing he has an army of believers to nuance his words and explain them to the voters...

Here is the problem:

In the midst of remarks ridiculing the president's handling of the economy, Romney said: “I admit this, he has one thing he did not do in his first four years - he's said he's going to do in the next four years, which is to raise taxes.”
During the primaries, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul offered a very different view of the presidents record, when she told the L.A. Times: “President Obama has raised taxes 19 times.”

Typical Romney cant remember what he said before. Well, maybe the OH audience was is in that 47% so it doesn't matter.

Did you mean that Romney can’t remember what Andrea said? You quoted 2 different people.

As mentioned before, what is the MSM going to say?

“Barry did too raise taxes!”?

Romney wasn't even my fifth choice, but the system we have is the system we have. We're letting our imaginations run wild. Consider the source. It's Markomalley who doesn't like Romney a single bit. Then it's ABC via Yahoo News and is that a link to Mediaite?

There is a concerted effort on the part of the LSM to assist the Obama campaign. A tactic once understood is no longer a tactic, unless there's a gullible FReeper on the receiving end.

Story after story report some Romney “gaffe” and surprise, surprise it's taken out of context or part of a smear campaign. How come we can catch it some times and fall for it other times?

This is the same lying media that hates and undermines our beliefs and values. Don't believe them. Savvy?

There is no big deal. The left and many on the right parse his every word and spend days on end criticizing him. I imagine it's not easy for him having to fight obama AND the media AND the entire entertainment industry AND aarp AND Planned Parenthood, AND blatant repeated lies AND the list goes on. They don't cover his rallies. All of the coverage on Romney is negative. It's a pretty tough hurdle when you have the MSM openly supporting a commie.

“Barry did too raise taxes!”?”

Or “Even Romney admits that President Obama did not raise taxes”

Can’t really say that, because Barry clearly did raise taxes. It’s been his mantra to make the “rich” pay more in taxes.

My guess is that team Hussein will steer clear of the topic of taxes.

You may get a couple of tingly anchors trying to use it, but that’s about it.

Good thoughts, as always, Chaplain.

What amazes me is the number of apparent Myth sycophants that have come out of the woodwork.

Myth Romney is not now, nor ever will be, a conservative. He is a northeast lib who is trying to tell us that he is one just because he stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Well, this isn’t a TV commercial and his virtue is that he is, as JR put it, the last RINO standing.

These little gaffes, that Romney apologists like to explain away as media spin, show us what is really going on in his little liberal heart.

Yes they can say that 'Romney admits that Obama didnt raise taxes' because Romney just said he didnt. Now if Romney later says that Obama raised taxes then the MSM and O campaign will play the clips together and tell viewers to conclude that you cant believe anything Romney says.

“I swear, if it was anybody else...ANYBODY...even the Hildabeast or Jimmuh Catah...in the WH, there is NO WAY that this asshat would get my vote. None. “

I think you’ve just expressed the feelings of 99.9 percent of the conservative population. Why is it that the only place for common sense these days comes from Freerepublic? Even the so called conservative media is in the tank for the kenyan.

MY guess is that Romney is saying that Barry didn't raise taxes, because the way that Barry raised taxes is similar to the ways that Mitt increased revenue in Massachusetts. That's just a guess. His evaluation is that it's better to defend "not raising taxes in Massachusetts" than it is to defend raising taxes.

So, Mitt's tenure in Massachusetts might be biting again.

“I’m waiting for Romney Shock and Awe”

Which would alienate the faction of the 53% (some women and independents) who vote emotionally - votes he needs to win. Romney stirring sympathy for Obama by mounting a head-to-head attack is not a winning strategy with that group. If he panders unnecessarily to conservatives (who already understand the full implications of a second Obama term), he will alienate some independents. Others such as Gingrich and Sununu are deployed to wage the hard-hitting political assaults.

"How can two such lousy candidates have been put forward by the Republicans."

I know a lot of yall really liked NOOT, but we didn't have anybody worth a tinkers damn to choose from.
Herman was my pick until he let the LSM run him off.

I’ve seen the Obama ads here in Ohio, BN, and they are not nice.

So, women aren’t turned off by democratic tough ads, they’re only turned off by republican tough ads.

I don’t buy it.

“I view TV randomly, and I’ve not seen a single Romney ad here in my part of OHIO this week.”

Rush may have had it right a year ago when he said the GOP-e was convinced Obama can't be beaten and so were going to focus on Congress this election. Therefore, their only job was to nominate a presidential candidate who will raise money for the GOP but otherwise get out of the way and won't offend the donors too much.

Their man, Romney, has given huge chunks of the money he's raised to the GOP which is why Obama is outspending him everywhere you look, including Ohio. I think they see their plan unfolding exactly how they designed it.
