Armstrong & Getty absent from Sacramento live radio amid controversy over Muslims

Popular talk radio show hosts Armstrong & Getty were absent from Clear Channel's live programming Tuesday amid controversy around one of the hosts' on-air comments about Muslims.

KSTE (650 AM) aired a previously recorded "Best Of" morning show on Tuesday instead of its regularly scheduled live program featuring Jack Armstrong and Joe Getty. Officials for the Sacramento station and its owner, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, offered no explanation for the change, sparking questions and heated comments among fans on the show's Facebook page.

During an on-air discussion Monday, Armstrong criticized the United States for what he characterized as apologizing for a crude YouTube video that mocked the Prophet Muhammad and sparked anti-U.S. uprisings around the globe. He urged listeners to make their own "anti-Muhammad ads" and post them to Al-Jazeera, the Arabic news network. "We need to bombard them with ads until they grow up," he said.

Armstrong did not return a phone message from The Bee on Tuesday, and Clear Channel spokesman Dave Milner said, "We do not have any information at this time" about the hosts and their future at KSTE.

The program, which airs weekday mornings, features the hosts taking calls from the public and offering social commentary and humorous anecdotes about everything from celebrity sex to politics.

The show's fans spoke out on Armstrong & Getty's Facebook page Tuesday, questioning why they were absent from the live broadcast and accusing the channel of censorship...

The Draw Mohammad Day cartoonist received many death threats. She did an identity change and relocation with help from the Feds.

Clear Channel Radio has a history of doing stupid things to appease Islam.
After 9/11 they banned from airplay a bunch of songs they assumed would inspire violence.
I’ll have to see if I can didg that stupid list up again, it’s been awhile.

This is just that same stupidity.

As an aside: Snopes claims that Clear Channel never made such a list.. yet it does exist.

They should break up Clear Channel.

Interestingly, here’s the list.
Unfortunately, it’s listed at that wonderful “Always accurate source” [ / sarc] of Wikipedia.

If there are Muzzies willing to murder anyone they deem responsible, they could just be looking at the costs. Security. Insurance. Advertisers targeted.

We’re entering a post free speech America. The US government outed the filmmaker/ trailer guy and took him into custody.

The Draw Mohammed girl was relocated but at her own expense.

Clear Channel might have been contacted by the DOJ. The DOj now has a Muslim Roghts special division.

I know.
It’s “Hands off” on offending muslims, but it’s fair game to go lightyears out of the way to offend Christians.

I say we need to have someone put an image of Mohammed in a jar of urine and ask if there is structurally and logically any difference between that and the other supposed piece of ‘art’.

Snopes currently claims the list did exist, just that it was not an outright ban. Reading it, it’s very obvious that the list has nothing to do with encouraging violence or Muslim extremist, but rather just songs that might be tasteless in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy.

For instance, “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” (which is, after all, about renouncing violence), “Dust in the Wind,” and examples of simple irony, such as “Safe in New York” and “Ironic.”

Ironically, “Ironic” is ironic here, despite being named “Ironic” yet having nothing to do with “Irony.”

The Sacramento Council on American-Islamic Relations, a civil rights group, has decided to steer clear of the controversy, said executive director Basim Elkarra.

"They're just doing it for ratings," he said of Armstrong's remarks about Muslims.

"Of course, we don't like some of their attacks," Elkarra said of the radio hosts. "But we respect freedom of speech."

How magnanimous of the guy. Clear Channel has already done exactly what he wanted them to, so why take the heat for it?

I'll say this. The rest of us are getting damned tired of the 0.0005% running "our" nation. If you don't like how things operate here in the U. S., hit the road.

You know what, we have rights too. Imagine that. Somewhere on this planet, White guys actually get to say what's on their mind. Oh the horrors!

Does anyone know if they are on live right now? I’m listening online, but can’t tell if this is a re-run.

Snopes is a spin machine for liberal politics.

Spend a few minutes on their site sometime and look up incidents that have been well covered in the past exposing liberal problems and see how they spin them. When someone quotes Snopes their credibility goes out the window.

That was because of the muzzies dancing in the streets due to 9/11, that’s why Clear Channel banned that one.

And yes, I know that Snopes is a spin machine.
It’s just laughable that they claim the songs weren’t banned for the reason they were banned.

My note to the KSTE station manager, Alan Eisenson:

Dear Mr. Eisenson:

Just because they offended the raghead enemy's pedophile false "prophet" you take A&G off the air?

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt -- you're probably just scared of what the practitioners of the Religion of Terror (i.e., The ROT) might do to you ... a legitimate fear, I must add.

Take my advice and "grow some", good sir.
