This is a funky poll so I encourage you to click on the poll itself to see the numbers for yourself.

I often wonder what the heck happened to turn Colorado blue-leaning in the first place? It used to be a pretty safely Republican state. Maybe not Texas or Idaho-level safe, but not exactly prime Democratic territory, either.
I like you, and your posts however, can we just stop posting polls for the day? Goodness.
They got of lot of shit exported to them courtesy of CA. CA is pretty much the asshole of America.
Fair enough. I am going to my bedroom to finish reading President Fu Manchu.
I would love a sub forum on here the is called Poll Watch 2012 election. And put every thread about polling in that sub forum, because these crazy ass, mostly bias polls, are not really breaking news anyway.
I’m starting to get poll fatigue. Can you tell?
*that is called
Rocky Mountain High. Inspired by the song thousands of hippy types moved there to be close to nature. The same thing that happened to California 20 years ago when tons of Libs poured into the state from NY, and the East Coast.
I will be shocked if CO goes for Romney. Here in Denver it seems like everyone is totally in the tank for BHO. I’ve seen exactly one Romney yard sign (and that was in Boulder!!).
My Friend, and His Ultra Leftist Wife moved from Ca to Co.
and then about 3 years later, came Back...She said there were not enough Regulations in Colorado for Her Liking....
You are Right that ca. is the cespool of America....
Rushing full speed ahead into Bankruptcy....Like a Bullet Train.
California is now 39.7% non-Hispanic white, a number which is falling fast. Unless the GOP can start winning a decent percentage of Hispanics and other non-whites, it won't be able to win a statewide election.
George W. Bush won a majority of white voters in California, McCain came close and Romney may win a majority again. Doesn't matter. Too few non-Hispanic white voters to matter, and those there are a much smaller part of the electorate than they were even 8 years ago.
Was picking up food at a restaurant tonight, only one table with people, talking politics, 2 men, 1 woman. Woman: I can’t vote for Romney, he doesn’t support women’s reproductive rights.
Seriously? Who gives a damn about women’s reproductive rights if we don’t have jobs, homes, food, safety, shelter. Really, your only concern is women’s reproductive rights.
Next, seriously? This is the same (sorry) goddamn argument trumped out against every, single republican. Bush, in my opinion, was far more conservative than Romney and posed what threats to women’s reproductive rights? Oh, yeah, NONE!
My gender disappoints me, such puppets of the damn liberal media.
Can you tell I am still steamed, nearly an hour later, over hearing just a portion of that conversation.
lefties moved there because Bouklder had a reputation and all the east coasters wanted to hang out in Aspen like the Kennedys. Happened during the 70s and 8os unfortunately. Kind of like Oregon used to be a nice place too.... a long time ago
and just think IF O gets another term the whole darned country can look just like California
Even if it’s only 0.4, that’s still too much. Time to move it along.

Well, in driving about various parts of Boulder County the last few weeks, including the City of Boulder, I’ve seen only a single yard sign for Obama and about three Obama bumper stickers. If these folks vote for Obama, they’re sure not very proud of it. My guess is a bunch of ‘em ain’t gonna be voting for Zero again.
Nothing but 0 voters here in Stapleton...Hussein yard signs are everywhere in these parts!
The answer to your question is John Denver. In short, he made popular the hippy migration to Boulder and Aspen and Veil. Lots of aging hippies decided to relocate to Colorado and diluted the conservative vote. Eventually, Downtown Denver and Boulder turned into liberal enclaves surrounded by reality.
I’m a long time CO resident, I was a volunteer lobbyist for 5 years and a regular down at the capital for a few years on each side it.
The change occurred when the Front Range reached critical mass. The pivotal moment in CO politics coincided with the banning of leg hold traps in CO. The FR, Ft. Collins down to South Denver had enough votes to now dictate to the rest of the state.
I live in Boulder, when I travel out to reality, I’m seeing Romney signs in Larimer and Weld counties. The communities off the FR are still the blue collar republicans they’ve always been, as are the older timers around here.
The county vote map after 2008 looked like a red red cats eye with a blue iris,(or maybe a blue skid-mark. Outside the Front Range the population density drops off dramatically.
Basically, there maybe more of them, then there are of us.

Sigh. Kool-Aide drinkers one and all. It’s always tough for the rest of the state to make up for the preponderance of Commies in Denver.
