"To say it as plainly as I can," President Obama told the American Medical Association in 2009. "Health care reform is the single most important thing we can do for America's long-term fiscal health. That is a fact." Considering that the explosive growth of Medicare and Medicaid spending are the driving forces behind our current deficits, Obama was dead right in that 2009 speech.
But in 2010, on the eve of the passage of Obamacare, Obama told the House Democratic Caucus, "Everybody who's looked at it says that every single good idea to bend the cost curve and start actually reducing health care costs are in this bill." And on that score, he was dead wrong. Many experts, and even former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, said at that time that Obamacare would cause more, not less, health spending. Now a slew of new reports confirms their analysis.
When he ran for president in 2008, Obama promised he would lower health insurance premiums for families by $2,500 in his first term. But earlier this month, the Kaiser Family Foundation released its annual Employer Health Benefits Survey showing that average family health insurance premiums have gone up by more than $2,500 ($2,730 to be exact), not down. Then, this week, the Health Care Cost Institute released its annual Health Care Cost and Utilization Report showing that, after briefly slowing down due to the recession in 2009 and 2010, overall health care spending rose 4.6 percent last year, far outpacing both inflation and wages.
Seniors have also been hit hard by the rising cost of health care since Obamacare became law.

“Obama is a liar”.
“Obama is a liar”.
Almost every town I know...even hick towns....have programs for Seniors including exercise centers. All the subsidized Senior housing has an exercise center.
seniors have gotten a pass for too long...
I'm serious....
my inlaws go to the dr. several times a year, get mri's for "aches" and try all kind of meds...my "diabled" sil has had gastric bypass, tons of meds, special free shoes every year, eye surgeries, back surgery, foot surgery, and she gets a free membership, apparently, at the Y....
so the worse you take care of yourself, the more free stuff you get...
Four things I fear from Obiecare in a second term...
1. Neonatal services for preemies only available to a select few (any man willing to let the baby die from a botched abortion is more than capable of letting preemies die on a cold metal table).
2. Warehousing the mentally ill. His world view is only interested in people who can produce for the state. 3. Removal of care for terminally ill with mandatory do not resuscitate orders. (see 2 and 3)
4. Deny life extending care to seniors. (see 2, 3 and 4)
Sorry to seem so cynical, but we are talking about a person who is not a respecter of all life currently in the presidency.
I guess we’ll just have to pass it to see what it costs.
What was that quote again? "Maybe we should just give Grandma a pain pill".
When my 90 year old mom was dying, they put her through every test they could INCLUDING A SPINAL TAP....to find out what was wrong with her.....It was awful and there was no conclusion. FINALLY, after two weeks of extreme suffering and struggling, my "da" sister said to remove from all the machines....
When my dad got his hearing aid....It was mandatory that he went back 3 times whether there was a problem or not....or they wouldn't pay for any of it.
So, here's one example of deliberately inflating costs.
I think now...hearing aids themselves aren't even included in insurance packages but I'm sure ear doctors are.
That would be the one, yes.
Obama’s idea of who can “produce for the state” is limited to those who will consistently vote for Democrats.
