DOVER The new public safety director will receive a municipal vehicle to use on the job and for his approximately 150 to 160 mile round trip commute from his Jersey Shore home, according to the town clerk's office.

Dover New Jersey is a good distance from the New Jersey shore. Its somewhere in North Central New Jersey and NOT Dover Township which is near the New Jersey Shore.
why on earth do the taxpayers have to finance his choice of a location, these people are thieves
That must be a hell of a commute back on Thursdays and Fridays during the summer. I guess they’ll just call in sick those days anyway.
Bingo. They ARE. He’s ALREADY getting a good pension from the New Jersey State Police. I wonder if he is ALSO eligible for ANOTHER pension as head of “Public Safety” in Dover.
And I wonder how FAST this turkey can respond to an “emergency” in the town of Dover, living down at the New Jersey Shore?
You have to remember, traveling 80 miles in New Jersey is NOT like driving 80 miles in Montana. TIME is a better determinant of distance than actual milage in such a congested state.
I guess he doesn’t want to move his family to Doverico!
Go figure...
I live about 30 minutes west of Dover and I wouldn’t want to live there either.
Yet another member of the parasite class in America. Doesn’t this double-dipping dipsh** have a conscience?
REALLY NOT THE POINT!
The point is this doulbe-dipping s.o.b. is living some distance from the town, and he is expected to be a “Public Safety Director” which, one would presume, as the article implies, an ability to respond quickly. And for this purpose, the residents of the town (OR POSSIBLY EVEN THE STATE - a lot of GRANT money flows around you see) are expected to pick up the bill.
Wonder how many accidents this turkey will cause in “responding” to “emergencies” in Dover?
He's graduated from leech to lamprey.
Apparently not. He struck earlier in Springfield, New Jersey, a town some distance from the New Jersey shore also.
He must have outstanding “qualifications”.
WRONG. They are NEVER sick. check their retiement papers. Law enforcement personnel enjoy WONDERFUL ( impossible?) good health. Unless they are going out on disability for a blister on their trigger finger ( apparently none of them are ambidextrous), they cash in ALL or as much of their sick time for bucks when they “retire” like this scumbag “retired”.
The Parkway to 78 to 287?
Come on.
On a summer Friday this is a 5 hour round trip commute. Chances of this guy actually showing up to work on any given day are about 50%. Showing up on time about 30%. Putting in a full day about 20%.
relax, this is most likely a taxable fringe benefit since commuting is personal use.
???????????????
What has THAT got to do with it?
He STILL getting a free vehicle and gas to work at a job which SHOULD require quick response time and he’s DOUBLE-DIPPING.
Failure to report the value of his car service led in part to the downfall of little Tommy Daschle. Take the long view. Meanwhile, clean out the politicians who would hire someone living that far away and for providing such a perk.
Good point. My guess is they will go - on the other hand, they are probably DemocRats and I heard that town is Democratic.
I understand that, just making an observation.
Please, don’t take yourself so seriously and lighten up...
Sorry. I just get ticked off when I read about tax payers getting screwed by crony government.
