(CNSNews.com) - Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, the Republican vice-presidential nominee, told a West Palm Beach, Fla., television station over the weekend that he is now okay with homosexuals in the military and does not want to reverse the repeal of the Dont Ask Dont Tell policy.
I talked to a lot of good friends of mine who are combat leaders in the theater, and they just didnt think the timing of this was right to do this when our troops were in the middle of harms way in combat, Ryan told WPTV Saturday, when asked about the one-year anniversary of the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell.

Now that its done, we should not reverse it. I think that would be a step in the wrong direction because people have already disclosed themselves.
I think this issue is past us, he added. Its done. And I think we need to move on.
Well, he does have to go along with the presidential candidate.
Amazing how they bend over and grab their ankles for less than 1% of the population, even when they have 0% chance of getting a single vote for it.
A Democrat party line vote. We’re lucky they didn’t make homosexuality mandatory.
Got a link to that story? Sex does not belong in the barracks let alone in the military. The quicker they understand that the better off we will all be.
Something tells me Obama will accommodate them and even give them condoms, that's the scary part of it all.
“We have to elect Romney because we can influence him our way after the election...”
blah blah blah
Not a chance
BINGO!!!
Post of the thread!
His mind and morals are slipping away rapidly ~ next, “Ryan thinks he’s the Pope and orders crates of condoms for Vatican use” ~
Not taking issue with your post (I get the sarcasm) but I’d like to make it clear that if conservatives never PUSH BACK and change/enforce laws, all that will ever be served by conservativism will be “debate” and slowing down inevitable politically correct liberalism.
Conservatives have a habit of fighting against things and then giving up when they lose. If something is passed, they just surrender. The only exception seems to be Obamacare.
My question is, why the hell do you even need to make it known what sexuality you are? You’re in the military, not a brothel. Who needs to know? What relevance does it have?
Thanks! It’s a great article to include in this thread.
Ryan is getting the order of things mixed up, republicans cave in AFTER they get elected not BEFORE.
Romney-Ryan = Log Cabin Republicans
Only voting state here and only a few issues (can’t even support the repug candidate for governor for similar reasons).
We were told there would be no good choices during the End Times and boy isn’t that the truth!
The gays think its very relevant, they want to be able to do IT whenever and whenever
I suspected this would happen when he signed on with Mitt.
I guess this should have been predictable. Ryan probably feels forced to say these things.
I pretty much exhausted myself criticizing Romney before his official nomination and I no longer have any appetite for criticizing his candidacy. At this point, I really just feel sorry for the Romney-Ryan ticket and for each of them personally. Like Ann has said, things can’t be easy or fun for them.
Anyway, it’s almost over now.
How lovely. Whenever it seems this crappy election season couldn’t get any more dispiriting, it always does. Really getting to be fewer and fewer reasons to even bother with going out and casting a damned ballot.
The Romney bait-n-switch, as he usually does, is starting to show.
Same thing the McCain people did with Sarah Palin - SSDD
