Skip to comments. If voters think Obama's deceiving them about the Benghazi riot, he'll pay in November

......You be the judge. The Washington Post has cobbled together a timeline of administration statements on the attack, with the following disclaimer: We will leave it to readers to reach their own conclusions on whether this is merely the result of the fog of war and diplomacy or a deliberate effort to steer the storyline away from more politically damaging questions. After all, in a competitive election, two weeks is a lifetime. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
.....Both liberal critics and the Republicans see a mix of ineptitude and cunning in the White Houses behaviour. After they were brushed off with a light-on-details security briefing that implied Obama didnt want to give too much away, congressional Republicans are on the warpath. Rep Buck McKeon told Fox, We are getting close to an election, and all I can think of is they're just trying to keep the facts unknown until after The way they're handling this is so incompetent.
Open debate about tragedies like this might seem unpatriotic and heartless, but how they are handled can change the outcome of an election. In 2004 a terrorist attack in Spain left 191 dead. The conservative government of Jose Maria Aznar instantly blamed the domestic terrorist group ETA. When it turned out that al-Qaeda was responsible, it looked like Aznar had shifted blame in order to dodge accusations that he had made Spain open to attack by backing the Iraq War. The news flipped popular opinion. A country that seemed ready to easily re-elect the conservative government instead gave a landslide victory to the socialists.
Whether its the result of incompetence or a genuine lack of intel, voters dont like to think that theyve been deceived.

Hey Hussein Heads.... How about that crazy “protest” and “riot” all about a movie eleven years earlier on the same day?
Wish it were an American paper.
And if he doesn’t fix the economy, he’s a one term president. Sure. Because the masses pay such close attention to these matters. /sarc
OR that we have been set up by our own government to carry out a false flag operation which resulted in the deaths of our ambassador, his communications director, and two Navy SEALS.
You think this will weigh even 1 gram on that woman’s mind, voting for Obama because of ‘free’ gubmint cell phone and plan, and expecting more ‘Obama’ freebies?
Obama won’t pay at all; liars enjoy liars.
What we have with Bengazigate is a metaphor for the upcoming election.
The Obama camp felt it was imperative for the electorate to not conclude that the consulate attack in Libya was from distaste for Obama’s middle-east policies. So they read the minds of the protestors for us, to proffer the meme that it was all about a video.
After Obama loses next month, the story will be that it was about the electorate’s “misreading” of the Bengazi flap, coming to the conclusion somehow that Obama had been floundering on foreign policy.
The truth, of course, is that it will be about his socialist domestic policies. Liberals simply won’t be able to admit this, since domestic policies are where most of the socialism resides.
I’m not sure how this negatively impacts obama with undecideds. They won’t pay attention to this or care, really.
If not, why did Obama/Clinton work so hard to bury it?
Pure bs. The average american could care less anymore.
I’m disgusted beyond words what the F is going on lately.
90% don’t know and don’t care
Deceived is obammy’s second middle name
Gas prices and Food prices, anyone?
The media has refused to find people suffering because of these and focus on them, because then it would be giving a balanced view-—they went out looking for people hurting when gas prices went up under Bush.
Now they’re ignoring the suffering under Obamugabe.
in the tank.
I doubt the Libya story is still on anyone’s radar.
yeah, Obamugabe is a liar....but the media doesn’t care and therefore won’t drive that point home.
Romney and Ryan need to focus on gas prices, food prices and throw in as an aside “oh yeah, and he lied about libya, too.”
There was no “riot”...it was a preplanned moozlum terrorist attack. nobama: Liar...liar...pants on fire.
If not, why did Obama/Clinton work so hard to bury it?"
If you are a professional in any field and you see an error in your work, even one almost no one will notice, you will make an effort to fix it. Clinton and the Kenyan are professional grifters. When they saw the Mideast riots they scrambled to create an illusory meme.
Usually the state media can be counted on (w/o prompting) to cover up and clean up for the administration. This time it was a bridge too far.
