Well, since I have no intention of EVER paying the tax penalty for not buying their unaffordably expensive new health insurance (my affordable catastrophic insurance will be outlawed), I fully expect to be jailed for tax evasion in a few years. Sneak a hacksaw or file in to me when you visit the jail. Thanks.

"The thing to remember about conditions of probation is that the alternative is jail."

Yeah, but they rarely find anyone in violation of probation since the jails are usually overcrowded already, and Parole Officers don't want to be bothered with the paperwork. They violated him specifically because of the film. It had nothing to do with the fact that he accessed the internet against the order of the court. I'd like to know how long he'd actually been accessing the internet prior to the time the White House blamed the movie for the attacks.

Look at it this way, you'll be in a Federal joint, and you can hang with the rest of us tax evaders.

I should have specified that they rarely find anyone in violation of probation for committing a minor offense like using the internet, even if it is part of his probation. Had he been using the internet to commit the same defrauding activities that got him the original charges, now that’s a different story.

"I wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Dershowitz to defend this guy and made this a public trial.."

He usually only works on Appeals.

You're exactly right (though people don't often commit minor probation violations in such a public way). Of course this is selective enforcement of the probation violation. My point is simply that the probation condition itself is hardly unusual.

The severity of this coordinated Leftwing attack against the 1st Amendment cannot be understated. This effort is tantamount to restricting the air we breathe.

Telling the truth about Mohammed is what? Blasphamy? Heresey? Hate Speech? Against some American law? Good Lord we live in some weird, surrealistic, through-the-looking-glass times.

“Now at least Federal authorities might be able to *punish* the filmmaker.”

Of everything I’ve seen surrounding this film and the reactions to it, Raviv’s statement is the first actual blasphemy I’ve heard.

I believe it was check fraud was his original sentence.
If the guy violated probation, there should be a response..but we need to watch if it is within the ‘average” consequences.

Not true..violation of probation is most often followed with jail time...in this case there can be no leeway becuase of the media surrounding it.
