The truth about 2012 polls
Fox News ^ | Sept 27, 2012 | Douglas E. Schoen

In the 2012 race for the White House President Obama is ahead, but the polls are misleading.

In a recent interview, Romney pollster Neil Newhouse made the argument that these mainstream polls are skewed in favor of Obama.

In order to address this, some conservative outlets have taken matters into their own hands. One website, www.unskewedpolls.com, has begun reweighting mainstream polls to more closely track the demographic assumptions that the conservative leaning Rasmussem Reports uses. The results have been staggering: the re-weighted polls all put Romney ahead of Obama with margins of between 3 and 11 points. If one looks at the Real Clear Politics average Obama is currently up four percent over Romney. But according to UnSkewedPolls.com, Romney has a 7.8 percent edge on Obama.

And if Anderson weren't running, Reagan would have run by a larger margin.

The polls always trend toward the Democrat, making then both predictable and useless except to discourage easily swayed Republican voters. Romney will win with a substantial margin of victory on November 6th. The pollsters will be flabbergasted and theatrically wonder 'how could this happen?'. Romney's win will also put a big, well deserved dent in the credibility of presidential polls.

“Douglas E. Schoen has served as a pollster for President Bill Clinton and is currently working with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.”

Disregard anything this democrat says. The same thing goes for that airhead Joe Tripi.

The polls always snap back into reality 1-2 days prior to election day, which gives the pollsters cover.

I think it's base against base, and someone remarked the other day that the undecided’s that show up always break for the challenger. Obama’s done. He better enjoy his kobe beef now.

This article is in line with what Romney's people are thinking, according to Jim Geraghty at National Review: the race is close, but Brak leads by a couple of points in Ohio and Florida.

We're going right down to the wire with this race, and it doesn't have to be that way - if Romney will just get out ahead of his cautous advisers, he can build momentum through and after the debates.

Agree 100% with this article.

Obama is ahead. The polls are skewed, but a lot of people are deciding that they just don’t like Romney.

It isn’t over yet, but Romney is going to need to make a bold move, or at least WAKE UP and campaign hard if he hopes to win.

Can he do it? Sure. Obama is about as weak as an incumbent President could possibly be.

Will he do it? Haven’t seen any real signs of life yet, but I am still holding out hope.

My hope is fading. No Repulican candidate has had any fire in the gut since Reagan.

i agree- the article is pretty fair...the problem is you are correctly talking about what “we” should be doing but that’s not what the Romney campaign is doing...

i had hope he would hit hard when he did that news conference in front of the bankrupt solyndra headquarters- i thought that was a stroke of genius...since then its as though he feels he’s got a 20 point lead and is playing prevent D....

I'm having deja vu all over again. These polling excuses and advice to take off the gloves sound just like 2008. And, yes, I hope I'm wrong.

As a conservative and a Republican, I have no intention of answering polls. I have no idea who is really calling and I don’t want Obama to send the IRS if the “best” answers are not given. I wonder how many others refuse to take polls. Demwits on the other hand can’t stop giving their opinions.

The truth about the 2012 very biased polls is that they are now used the main strategy by Obama and his media to win the elections in attempt to demoralize the Republican/Conservative base by telling them it is over the polls show a huge lead for Obama... Any fool can see that the vast majority of the polls are massively oversampling democrats and way under sampling Republicans and Independents in comparison to what they actual numbers would on November 6 2012... It is that simple...

“Carter was way ahead of Reagan in the polls before the election too...”

Let’s not forget that Mondale had a 30 point lead over Reagan in 1984.

We need to think up a good punishment for these jack-offs in the gossestepping MSM. My first thought is a one-way ticket to North Korea. Stuff their pockets with $10 billion in Bernacke cash and 500 grenades and send them along to North Korea on a slow freighter. Let Chia Head sort it out.

What I like about Social Media is that we can set a “counter narrative” and debunk the MSM crap.
