Allen West's new ad: The most brutal clip of 2012?

.Allen West's new ad: The most brutal clip of 2012?

The video: The campaign season has seen its share of vicious attack ads, but freshman Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) has just released what might be the most brutal campaign commercial of the year. (Take a look at the 30-second video below.) The spot begins with a montage spotlighting the controversial, blunt-spoken Tea Party favorite's military career, saying that on Feb. 16, 2003, West, then an Army colonel, was at Fort Hood, Texas, where he had just received deployment orders, and was preparing his men to go to war. Then it cuts to a picture of West's Democratic opponent, Patrick Murphy, and says that on the same night, Murphy was in South Beach, Fla., getting kicked out of a nightclub for fighting, "covered in alcohol and unable to stand." Murphy, who was 19 at the time and has described the night as the biggest mistake of his life, then confronted and verbally assaulted a police officer, and was taken to jail. The ad concludes: "Two men, a country in crisis. You decide."

The reaction: Wow, this takes nasty to a whole new level, says Aaron Blake at The Washington Post. Juxtaposing your opponent's police mug shot with pictures of you in uniform in a war zone is about as in-your-face as it gets. Well, Murphy started it, says Michael Warren at The Weekly Standard. Last month, a Democratic ad portrayed West, "who is black, cartoonishly punching a white woman." Talk about a low blow.

Maybe, just maybe, an individual with a police record complete with mug shot should not be considered for high office. But oh, these are democrats ...

Somebody posted it here last night. I watched it twice. Now I’m watching it again. The most brilliant ad I’ve seen in a long time. Thank you for posting it.

I knew that....was just seeing if anyone was paying attention. :D

Enjoyed your well-deserved corrections.

Seeing more of Lt Col West in the future will be a true joy.

What some of the Dumb a$$ media forgets to report was not only that West was actually a legitimate war hero who put the lives of his men in front of his military career, His opponent was not only assaulting a police officer while intoxicated, he was also breaking numerous laws including under age drinking.

Murphy is a typical dip shit Irish Democrat prick who is from a rich politically connected family who is wired into the machine politics of a big city.

He thought his name recognition, his daddy's money and the fact that he wasn't black would be enough to win an election.

Someone smarter, better prepared and fearless just dusted this punk off like so much dandruff from a blue suite.

Let's face the facts, if you had a son or daughter in a combat area, you would rest far more comfortably knowing that his CO was Alan West and NOT Wesley Clark, or Patrick Murphy.

Alan West chucked his military career for the lives of his men and he did so without hesitation or remorse.

I love this guy!

THAT is one of the best political ads I ever saw.
It’s about a typical Republican versus a typical Democrat.;
The ad almost writes itself.

Go, Allen!

do hope that Romney takes note.

Don't count on anything remotely close to this from Romney. Romney is a weakling and a coward who is running "an honorable (ie., losing) campaign" like McCain's. His premise, like McCain's, is that you can't go too hard on the black guy - - you know, that wouldn't be politically correct and it may anger the Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms. Besides, it also would probably cost a lot of black votes.

/facepalm

One thing I find particularly ironic is that my congressman from 2008 - 2010 was a guy named... Patrick Murphy. He ran as an Iraq war veteran and won (barely) on Ubama’s coattails. He was a shameless Pelosi lapdog and “rising Democrat star”, but in 2010 this generally conservative district easily threw him out for Republican Mike Fitzpatrick.

One of my best friends is a three time purple heart winner. He was airborne, and a Ranger, during war time.

However, he would look at you, and be kind, at your description of Lt. Col. Allen West being a Marine. But, he would laff at you behind your back.

IOW, know your military affiliations before you post.

I tend to forgive people who aren’t in the trade, when they make a mistake but intend it as a complement.

For example, the Navy, Marines, and Air Force are technically not military organizations. But when someone refers to them as such, I cut them slack.

“...technically not military organizations.”

Okay - I’ll bite! What are they, and what would be an example of a military organization? I see you didn’t mention the Army, so I’m guessing there is a clue there?

"The Week" whatever that Leftist Rag is (don't know...don't CAIR) not only viciously attacks West, but (what else is new?) LIES and smears West for being "kicked out of the Army."

Then again, being an aggressive jerk comes naturally to him. By highlighting his military service in this way, he's unwisely inviting voters to take another look at "that time he was kicked out of the military a year later for torturing an Iraqi police officer."

Must be nice running for any political office as a "RAT" in this country as you are guaranteed protection and defensive cover by the corrupt, biased, Enamedia while they attack all Republican opponents.
