Speaking in New York City, the Prime Minister of Canada said the government of Iran constitutes, unambiguously, a clear and present danger and thus demands a very sober assessment.
The comments by P.M. Steven Harper were spoken at a dinner after receiving the World Statesman Award from Rabbi Arthur Schneiers Appeal of Conscience Foundation. Speaking of Iran, Harper said, I speak not merely of its appalling record of human rights abuse, or its active assistance to the brutal regime in Syria, or its undeniable support of terrorist entities, or its determined pursuit of nuclear weapons, rather it is the combination of all these things with a truly malevolent ideology.
I believe that the appeal of our conscience requires us to speak out against what the Iranian regime stands for...It likewise requires us to speak in support of the country that its hatred most immediately threatens, The State of Israel.

An assessment of the IRANIAN NUCLEAR PROGRAM by an adult. The FOREIGNERS Code Pink Assessment. HAVE NO FEAR NOTHING TO SEE HEAR. There just exercising their rights as a democratic country.
Harper-gets-it-Ping!
Canada Ping!
I believe that the appeal of our conscience requires us to ...speak in support of ...The State of Israel.
From the article,
“Former U.S. secretary of state Henry Kissinger also spoke at the event, saying the UN Security Council is where the five permanent members, for the past 10 years, have been discussing how Irans nuclear proliferation is unacceptable, and now its time to define what unacceptable behavior means.
Ten years, and NOW it’s time to define ...??!!
Okay.
Define what it means, but not by visiting consequences for it.
Here’s the Kissinger definition: Unacceptable behavior = Behavior that makes elder statesmen say, “tsk, tsk. This behavior is unacceptable.”
Send in Constable Fraser and Inspector Meg Thatcher to Iran.
Think how unhappy all those American liberals who threatened to move there if McCain won would be now if they actually had.
:) Good point !!
Gee I like this guy Harper. While probably not as conservative as most here at FR, he sure puts the WH to shame. He means what he says and then stands up and does it. Every now and then I find myself “pining for the fiords”....are there fiords in Canada?
