I have the “Quakes” app on my Iphone. It’s very cool. lets you know whenever a quake occurs and where with what magnitude. You can set the magnitude threshold for alerts.

Drudge was popular before that. For the reasons I said. He was given the Lewinski story because newsweek was spiking it. If drudge had not already been a success with his website, he would not have goten the story. His site was successful because it was fast loading at a time when other sites were fat and painfully slow. And he broke new ground as a one stop Web portal. You are certainly correct the lewinski story was a big big boost.
