Pssst, Mitt! Read this before Wednesday's debate
American Thinker ^ | 09/30/2012 | Thomas Lifson

While Mitt hunkers down with Rob Portman preparing for the Big Debate #1, the finest minds of the conservative blogosphere are explicating the themes that could win the debate for him, narratives that go to the heart of what is wrong with Obama's tenure in office.

Daniel P. Goldman, who also writes under the pen name Spengler, has explained in clear language the Obama sand in the gears that cripples our economy. He uses an excellent rhetorical device to do so, positing three groups of Americans

From PJ Media:

Our first case is one of five million Americans unemployed for more than 27 weeks:

A second American is part owner of a $20 trillion investment fund.

A third American is terrified that her pension fund will go bust (as the Illinois teachers' fund will some time during the next ten years, among many others).

He explains that American #2 won't invest in companies that would hire #1. The problem is that Americans are no longer investing in each other. It is the pension funds and other vehicles for retirement savings which dominate capital markets, and right now they only invest in safe instruments, low-yielding but less risky securities. The reasons are pretty clear:

We have the highest corporate tax rate in the world.

We have an administration that sandbagged one of the biggest contributions to energy independence to become available in decades, namely the Keystone project.

We have a regulatory environment that makes it next to impossible to build a nuclear power plant.

We have a health care program that puts the biggest weight of a new entitlement program right on the economy's weak spot - firms with fifty workers.

We have an administration that can't get its act together to steer the economy away from a fiscal cliff.

Granted, I'm not voting for the guy, but he got where he is with the team he has.

The same bloggers that are now offering advice were snapping at his heels, not long ago.

I expect he'll ignore the blogosphere and do what has worked for him in the past.

"I'm voting my principles. I assume you are going to do the same."

Any so-called "principle" that facilitates four more years of this traitorous tyrant is not a "principle"but a PERVERSION!.

You vote your principles. I'll vote mine.

If the GOP wants my vote, they need to run a pro-life, pro-gun, anti-socialized medicine, small government conservative.

If you would list your principles, we would be happy to point out the numerous contradictions.

OK, let me get this straight, your not voting for Romney but you’ll vote for a pro-abortion, anti-gun, socialized medicine, large government liberal. Do I have that right?

I've listed my 4 basics so many times that I've been told to 'just shut up'.

Pro-life. Killing children, even unborn children is wrong.

Pro-gun. God gave man the right of self defense. The 2nd Amendment noted that.

Anti-socialized medicine. I've seen those evil results of well intentioned meddling.

Pro small government. We are supposed to have a government of limited power, according to the Constitution.

Those are them. Make the most of it. Still not voting for any liberal (R) or (D).

No, you don't have that right.

I don't vote for liberals. Period. Full stop. Paragraph. Turn the page. Amen.

Ever.

Whether they have an R or a D by their name.

Now you have me really confused. That could only mean you’re voting third party which is as good as handing your vote to Obama. Since a third party has only a snowballs chance in hell of winning this election, why not be true to yourself and vote for Obama. Personal convictions be damned!

Nope. I'll vote my principles.

Maybe Romney can borrow Bi-bi’s bomb diagram, and call it the national debt. Except I think the U.S. is probably at about 190% already, the red line was no doubt Nov 2008.

Dude, you're more than welcome to vote for whatever principles you have. But, as an outsider who supposedly looks at Romney with lesser ideals than you, you have just convinced other outsiders looking upon you as someone who does not even stand for the principles you have just spouted. In other words, you're willing to give up your freedom because the candidate you want isn't there.

Well, boo de frickin' hoo hoo.

My candidate isn't there either. But I don't want to be a LIBERAL in my so-called CONSERVATIVE IDEALS waiting for the perfect candidate. Yeah, johnny, I'm calling you a LIBERAL, because like a some lady willing to give up her freedom over a man giving her a free cell phone, your willing to give you your freedom awaiting for some ideal knight on a shining horse to come and save your @ss.

A perfect conservative would be nice, but as a public official, it is ultimately up to WE, THE PEOPLE, to hold him, and any other elected official, accountable.

If you don' want to vote for Romney because he's not your ideal, but at least for our country's sake, vote for Romney for another principle: Holding Obama, and any other liberal out there, accountable!

As a reminder to everyone, our government officials work for US! It is our DUTY to hold them accountable!

And, I would like to remind all of you so-called "I'm not voting for Romney because of my principles" people out there: Even Reagan was a democrat at one point. Chew on that thought before you willingly risk any semblance of freedom and liberty you have by letting the Worst President In History win re-election!

Pro-life. Killing children, even unborn children is wrong.

Since abortion techniques were widely known in biblican times, why didn't the bible directly address the topic if it is completely wrong as you assert?

Pro-gun. God gave man the right of self defense. The 2nd Amendment noted that.

Do you believe that right includes being able to walk into a store and buy landmines, claymores, mortars, artillery pieces and a 500lb MK82?

Anti-socialized medicine. I've seen those evil results of well intentioned meddling.

Do you believe the socialized medicine provided to members of the armed forces is well intentioned but evil?

Pro small government. We are supposed to have a government of limited power, according to the Constitution.

Do you believe we should not have food inspection?

Still not voting for any liberal (R) or (D).

Did you ever consider that Romney may be much more conservative than his Massachusetts record suggests but he had to make some compromises in order to steer Massachusetts politics away from a hard left course?

Yeah, johnny, I'm calling you a LIBERAL

You can call me whatever you like.

I see this crap every 4 years.

I'm not voting for your liberal .

You vote your principles, I'll vote mine.

If you want to win people over to your point of view, or deal with them after this election... you might curb your rhetoric.

The United States Government borrowed military equipment, including cannons, from civilians during the Revolution.

US civilians sent rifles and shotguns to England during WWII (later dumped in the north sea).

Yeah.. every terrible instrument of war belongs to the individual.

As far as your first point... You explain to God how aborting a baby is a GoodThing(tm).

You really reached.

Military medical care is an evil thing, in a lot of cases.

I suppose you think abortion is ok, the 2nd amendment is negotiable, socialized medicine is fine, and government should control everything...
