I think some bed-wetter GOP-e consultants have this same kind of mentality. It's absolute nonsense. Ohio's economy has recovered in spite of Obama because of John Kasich's solid executive leadership. Imagine how good things really could be... if Obama's regulatory state wasn't blocking the way?
And if we take a look at the states with Democrats in the governor's mansion, we see just how well off those economies are, don't we(Calif.'s Governor Moonbeam, anyone?). This is just another example of what effective Conservative leadership can do when it is Chief Executive.

Yep. That's what Republicans need to keep pointing out. Things don't just "magically" get better or worse- they happen for a reason. And the best recoveries are all happening in states led by Conservative governors. This should solidify Romney's argument- not harm it.

Unfortunately, unemployment in California for many has become the new life style.
Throw faux disability into the mix, and probably more people are getting some type of government stipend in California than the worker bees.
A friend who is a senior nurse with a busy family practice medical group saw two trends with the melt down:
1. Many workers over age 62, who were laid off, couldn’t find jobs and went on early SS and maybe part time and low paying jobs with zero benefits.
2. A surge of the younger workers applying for disability and getting it. Apparently the disability window entitlement window has been greatly expanded so there are more. Then these faux disabled don’t count as unemployed.

Throwing some taxpayer money at swing states won’t last after election day. The economic down-spiral will continue in full force (due to BHusseinO’s anti-business policies and higher and higher and higher taxes on us all). Vote for BhO and welfare will be your only future.
You just described an excellent example of why our RN friend feels the disabled rolls have been growing like crazy, the last few years.
I haven’t been able to confirm this part yet: Apparently certain and often self inflicted diseases can get you on disability. Like: Aids, Hep C, alcoholism, drug addiction, mental problems when patients dc their drugs and refuse to go back on them.
I have a neighbor who fits into this category. Union electrician, not particularly old. Has a very marketable skill that can earn him a nice living. But he prefers to collect SSI and sit home all day drinking and watching porn. And apparently he did not have much difficulty getting approved.
From what I can determine the “recovery” in Ohio is due to 2 factors:
- John Kasich getting elected and ending the insanity in Columbus (or at least giving some hope to small business).
- Shale gas fracking moving to the next frontier.
And Obama is fully intent on shutting down #2.
Romney needs to get an ad out in Ohio:
“Ohio, your economy is getting better. Why? Because of Republican Governor John Kasich’s pro-growth policies, and in spite of Barack Obama”.
There are reports of disability approval rates in Puerto Rico in the 90%+ range.
Imagine these rates are similar, just not as well publicized, in other 'rat strongholds where the welfare state reigns.

We may be the minority in America and its territories.
A 40 something daughter of people, we know, is an alcoholic, who is in and out of the tax paid dryout places on a regular revolving door basis. An aquaintance of them recently asked her parents if she was on Medical, and got a guick hell no. However, no definitive response was asked if she was on SS Disability. She is probably on SS Disability, which explains why she never sobers up and blames others for her being a revolving drunk.
I have friends in Carroll county. Lots of drilling/fracking going on. People making money on oil/gas mineral rights leases and pipeline easements. Lots of new faces in the area. Drillers and suppliers of everything you can think of for well support. These people need a place to live, food, etc. The general economy in and around Carrollton is MUCH better than just a few years ago. All this in spite of, not because of, soretoro.
